In this one day workshop on Sunday, March 20 from 10 – 3, instructor John Stevens of Dancing Hammer Forge will teach you to create a small copper trellis or edger and gain the know-how to fashion an unlimited number of exciting new practical and decorative structures. The class, limited to six participants, will take place at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, 11 French Drive in Boylston, and there is a members fee of $120, and a non-member fee of $130, which includes all materials. Students will use torches, pipe cutters, brushes and other basic plumbing tools as they learn how to plan, cut and solder with commonly available materials and equipment. No experience is necessary – just some ideas and the desire to make something clever and pick up some useful new skills. More experienced hands can use the workshop to refine and add to their skills as they plan more ambitious projects. All participants need to bring their own leather work gloves, eye safety protection, tape measure, Sharpie marker and a bag lunch. All other tools and materials will be provided. To register, log on to www.towerhillbg.org.
