Award winning food writer and chef Didi Emmons presents a slideshow at the Wellesley College Botanic Garden Visitors Center on Wednesday, March 5 at 1 pm, featuring 25 off-the-beaten-track herbs, greens, and foraged foods easily found or cultivated in Boston’s climate. Didi also profiles the eccentric, sustainable lifestyle of farmer Eva Sommaripa, whose 2-acre organic farm grows unusual herbs and greens exclusively for Boston’s top chefs.  It was Eva who taught Didi to love these plants, and inspired her to write Wild Flavors, a seasonal cookbook celebrating Eva and her herbs. There will be an author book sale and signing at the lecture. Wellesley Friends of Horticulture – free, non-members $10.
