Saturday, July 18, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon – Bumblebee Crowdsourcing

Our native bees are under increasing threat. Be “part of the solution” on Saturday, July 18 from 10 – 12 by joining bumblebee researcher Robert Gegear of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in his Bumblebee Crowdsourcing Project. The program will take place at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, 11 French Drive in Boylston. We’ll begin with a short presentation on bumblebee behavior, ecology and identification. Then you will put your new knowledge into practice in the gardens, collecting data on our local bumblebee species. This citizen science data will be used to help in bumblebee conservation efforts and can be continued in your own backyard. Free with admission to Tower Hill.
