Saturdays, September 19 and September 26, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm – Perennial Bed Renovation
This two-day, hands-on clinic at Berkshire Botanic Garden on Saturday September 19 and Saturday, September 26 from 9 – 4 will focus on renovation of established and old perennial beds, including how to read a planting plan.
Techniques will include lifting and dividing perennials, double-digging, soil assessment, application of compost and needed amendments into the lower soil profile and replanting the perennials according to the planting plan. Students will learn how to assess the growing conditions of the bed and determine what amendments should be added to insure optimal plant performance.
