Wednesday, July 12 – Saturday, July 15 – National Children & Youth Garden Symposium

NCYGS is the only national event of its kind where you can network with like-minded teachers, garden designers, community leaders, program coordinators, and others involved with connecting kids to the natural world. This summer’s event will take place in the Greater Portland Oregon and Vancouver Washington area. NCYGS 2017 attendees will have the opportunity to:

Explore topics ranging from curriculum to program management to garden design and maintenance during four dynamic days of educational sessions, field trips, and expert keynote presentations. July 12 will feature optional pre-symposium trips, while July 13-15 will comprise the main body of the symposium.
Experience the vibrant gardening and environmental culture of the green Pacific Northwest. Share ideas, success stories, and inspiration with like-minded colleagues from across the nation. Wednesday, June 7, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm – Water-Wise Gardening

The Trustees of Reservations will sponsor a free class on Water-Wise Gardening at El Jardin de la Amistad, 403 Dudley Street in Roxbury, on Wednesday, June 7 from 6 – 7:30. Learn to modify your gardening practices to cope with our increasingly common droughts. We’ll cover when and how to water, building your soil for water retention, and mulching. Thursday, June 15, 3:30 pm – Lotta Fountain Ribbon Cutting

The Esplanade Association is pleased to announce that water is once again flowing in the Lotta Fountain thanks to their supporters, and to partners at the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

To celebrate the $358,000 revitalization, they will be hosting a ribbon cutting on Thursday, June 15th at 3:30 pm. It will be a family and dog-friendly free event, featuring a performance by Lotta Crabtree and her banjo player, vendor giveaways, and refreshments for you and our four-legged friends.
