Green Animals in Portsmouth, Rhode Island is home to much more than fanciful topiaries. In fact dahlias have been an important part of the garden since its early days. On Saturday, September 28 from 10:30 – noon, learn from Chief Horticulturist Dan Christina all the tips and tricks that make growing dahlias an obsession for so many gardeners. Sunday, October 6, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Fiddlers on the Farm

New England has a great fiddle-music tradition drawing from Celtic, English, French and Scandinavian traditions. Fiddlers on the Farm on October 6 from 1 – 4 at Gore Place in Waltham highlights these deep traditions with performances by some of the region’s finest traditional musicians.

This year’s performers include Scottish fiddling with Emerald Rae and Quebecoise music from Yann Falquet, Adrienne Howard, Eric Boodman and Jonathan Cannon. Bring your instrument and join in an open jam following the performances.

Tickets are $10 all ages (Gore Place members and children ages 5 and under are admitted free). Children must be accompanied by an adult.
