Horticultural science and gardening best practices are constantly evolving. Whether you’re new to home gardening or have been “learning by doing” for many years, there’s no time like the present to get grounded in the latest thinking and techniques across a broad range of topics. Especially now that you can participate from the comfort of an easy chair near you!
The Home Horticulture Online Evening Lecture Series covers the same topics Certified Massachusetts Master Gardeners study as part of their rigorous training…but in a streamlined format tailored to gardeners with busy lifestyles:
- Ten 1.5 hr. lectures – one evening per week for ten weeks
- No required reading, homework, testing, or volunteering
- Detailed handouts provided prior to each class and for future reference
- All lectures presented via Zoom, an easy, fun, interactive audio-visual platform
CLASS SIZE: The sky’s the limit these days for many online courses, but to ensure all Home Hort participants get maximum personalized attention, we are limiting sign-ups to 40. Registration closes as soon as all slots are filled or September 3 at the latest. To be sure you don’t miss out, we encourage you to register early.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
- Foundational topics such as how to build great soil and how plants work – They may not sound exciting, but understanding these subjects can make all the difference in the success of your garden!
- Practical how-to’s including perennial selection and care; combating weeds, diseases and pests; and propagation techniques (how to make more plants from existing favorites!)
Please review the complete course syllabus.
