Sunday, November 14, 9:30 am – 11:30 am – Colored Pencil Holiday Card Online Workshop

Step into the spirit of the holidays and add a personal botanical illustration touch to your cards. Create your own artwork for a 5″ x 7″ holiday card and learn how to get it printed in time to send to friends and family, Botanical subjects will include your choice of poinsettia, pine cones with evergreens, or holly. This Tower Hill Botanic Garden workshop with Carol Schwartz on November 14 at 9:30 is online and will be live only. The materials list (not included with registration) can be found online HERE.

Carol graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute, attending her senior year at Rhode Island School of Design. She earned her MFA in Illustration from the University of Hartford, Connecticut in 2014. Her education equipped her to be diverse and adaptable, with work appearing in 60 picture books and countless magazines, newspapers and advertisements.

Thursday, November 18, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm – Strategies for Invasive Plant Management, Online

Invasive plants continue to be one of the main threats to the ecological integrity of natural communities and to populations of rare plants. Native Plant Trust’s Ecological Programs Coordinator, Bud Sechler, examines different strategies to combat invasive plants, drawing on invasive plant management experiences with Native Plant Trust, the Massachusetts Invasive Plant Advisory Group, and the Sudbury-Assabet-Concord Watershed Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area.
