Monday, February 21, 9:30 am – 11:30 am – Maple Sugaring at Wright-Locke Farm (Sold Out)

Join Wright-Locke Farm staff on February 21 at 9:30 am for a close look at some majestic maple trees. Learn to identify the various species, and taste sap right from the bucket. We’ll discuss the history of maple sugaring and just how sap is turned into syrup. We’ll boil down a small amount of sap so you can watch the process See who can tell the difference between 100% maple syrup and the commercial stuff made mostly of corn syrup. Children ages 10 and up are welcome to join a registered adult. Thursday, February 24, 9:30 am – 11:30 am – Drawing Trees, Online

Explore the variety and elegance of tree forms using pencil and paper. In this Harvard Museums of Science and Culture webinar, we will focus on capturing the shapes and volume of trunks and branches as well as techniques for drawing foliage in this online workshop. Groups will be limited to twelve, allowing ample time for individual feedback. All skill levels are welcome.
