Sunday, June 11, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Digging Deeper: Long Hill Garden – Marrying the Past to the Present

This June 11 Garden Conservancy program, led by The Trustees’ Director of Horticulture, Joan Vieira, will provide an overview of this special Beverly, Massachusetts property, detailing its early history as a garden for the Sedgwick family to its status today as a well-loved public garden. We will also explore the garden, looking at interesting specimen trees and other notable plants that have thrived in this space for decades.

Saturday, May 20, 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm – South Shore EcoFest

Planned for Saturday, May 20 from 2 to 7 p.m., Eco Fest — hosted by Just1Bag2020 — brings together dozens of local and sustainability-minded businesses, organizations, and non-profits from Cohasset and other South Shore communities in a celebration of eco-friendly living for all ages. The rain date is May 21. The event will take place on the Cohasset Town Common.

Participants include Untold Brewing, food trucks and carts (Nona’s Homemade South Shore Taco Guy, Zaaki Food Truck, Mom on the Go, Just Hummus, and Tiki Turbo) and live music by Gracie Grace & All the Good Boys, Thirsty Boots, and The Only Humans.

Entertainment for children will feature Mamasteph and Through Me to You Puppetry, and there will also be a raffle and scavenger hunt — all great family fun!

All proceeds will go toward the Just1Action Youth Sustainability Grant program, which is designed to help fund youth-led sustainability projects across the South Shore.  Individuals, community organizations, and youth not-for-profit organizations are eligible to apply. Projects must take place and serve the South Shore. (Go to https://www.just1bag.us/grants for details.) Just1Action was born out of the Just1Bag2020 movement, a family project that went global in 2020 showing that everyone can make a difference by picking up litter wherever they can.
