Through demonstrations and tutorials, celebrate the colors of seasonal leaves while learning how to realistically depict your subject matter in pencil, and then in watercolor, with Sarah Roche, on six Mondays, January 29 – March 4, from 10 – 1, online except for two classes, January 29 and March 4, which will be held at the Putnam classroom at The Gardens at Elm Bank. The winter topic: Varieties of artichoke have been cultivated since the time of the ancient Greeks and the domesticated variety is renowned as a staple of Mediterranean cuisine. Join Sarah as we explore the structure and pattern of this domesticated thistle bud. Through step-by-step stages, we will explore the concepts of capturing its form in graphite, color mixing, and matching, and then depicting texture using graphite and watercolor.
