Saturday, September 21, 10:00 am – 11:00 am – Digging Deeper: Discovering Blithewood: Guided Garden and Arboretum Tour

Join The Garden Conservancy on September 21 for a delightful experience exploring the grounds of the Blithewood Estate on Bard College campus. This guided outdoor tour will provide an immersive experience of the landscape of Blithewood Garden. Learn about historic and current plantings, garden architecture and its current rehabilitation project, and what’s in bloom. Enjoy the natural splendor of the grand landscape overlooking the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains from a restored historic viewpoint. The Friends of Blithewood Garden will provide the tour. Blithewood Garden is located in Annondale-on-Hudson, New York. $30 for Garden Conservancy members, $40 for nonmembers. Register at www.gardenconservancy.org

Tuesdays, September 17, October 8, November 12, & December 10, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Eastern – Fall Phenomena Series

Dig into fall’s amazing display of seasonal transformations in this four part online series with the Massachusetts Audubon Society. Insects and spiders are laying their eggs to overwinter, wildflowers are dispersing their seeds for next spring, deciduous trees are bursting with color, and wildlife populations undergo impressive transitions while preparing for winter. Discover the unique features on display each month through the eyes of a naturalist, and then venture out to observe these phenomena close to home. Each online presentation will include optional field exercises you can try in your neighborhood, and a list of related in-person programs you can join to practice your skills.

Each Fall Phenomena session stands alone, but if you register for this full series before it starts on 9/17/24 you get all 4 sessions listed below for the price of 3.

October 8: In the Forest

November 12: Seeds, Nuts, & Berries

December 10: Transition to Cold Weather
