Sunday, April 22, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm – Earth Day 2018 Climate Justice and Democracy

This Earth Day, the Northfield Bird Club will welcome and hear from longtime activist, writer and publisher Iris Morales, who spent many months after the devastating hurricanes hit Puerto Rico working to support communities there. “This critical situation is a defining and turning point in Puerto Rican history. Hurricanes Irma and Maria have laid bare the result of centuries of colonial control, austerity, and exploitation. But people in Puerto Rico are organizing themselves, creating communities of support.” Join them for an evening of exchange and discussion, about our eco-history and the situation in Puerto Rico. The event takes place Sunday, April 22 beginning at 5 pm at the Wendell Town Hall, 6 Center Street in Wendell, Massachusetts, followed by a potluck community supper at 7 pm.
