Pixels + Petals combines the vibrant world of retro video games with the delicate beauty of orchids in a one-of-a-kind experience. Thousands of living orchids in bloom will be artfully showcased throughout the Garden’s two subtropical conservatories. Rewind, flash back, and immerse yourself in pixelated charm as nostalgia and nature unite. Join us during daytime hours or experience the exhibition in a different light during our special Orchids After Dark events.

  • Northeast Regional Seed Club

    Join the Northeast Regional Seed Club with Cape Ann Gardens using the link HERE and be a part of the local seed movement! You’ll receive 6 months of seeds (up to five packets every two months) featuring regionally grown flowers, herbs, vegetables, and fruits adapted for the northeastern U.S. $85 cost.

    Your membership will provide critical start-up funds to support grower contributions to the 2025 list of offerings and seed contracts for the 2026 catalog. Your support is invaluable for developing this network of small-scale seed producers and launching a seed company rooted in ethical, regional seed stewardship.

    Each seed variety has been grown and tested by experienced seed savers committed to ethical, regionally focused seed production. Our club members play a crucial role in this process—not just as recipients of seeds, but as active participants in the ongoing adaptation of plants to the Northeast’s evolving climate. This initiative strengthens a regional seed network, sustains small-scale producers, and advances a future where seed sovereignty is the norm, not the exception.

  • Fridays and Saturdays, January 10 – 25, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm – Killer in the Conservatory

    Join the New England Botanical Garden at Tower Hill for an immersive and interactive murder mystery experience in collaboration with Escapism Productions. Each ticket includes one free beverage, an open popcorn bar, and a killer evening of murder mystery fun. Guests are welcome to come dressed for the occasion. Must be 21+ to attend. The event takes place Fridays and Saturdays, January 10 – 25, from 7 – 10 at NEBG in Boylston, Massachusetts. NEBG adult members $60, nonmember adults $75.     Back by popular demand, our Killer in the Conservatory series continues with an all-new murder mystery. We invite you to enter into the realm of mystery and intrigue in a second chronicle featuring the tireless Inspector Leopold Lapis. Get transported to the Victorian era as you find yourself invited to the somber yet peculiar will reading of Dr. Vivian Verdant, a renowned herbologist with a passion for the alchemical arts. But as the evening unfolds, it becomes clear that this gathering is no ordinary affair. Lapis soon discovers that Dr. Verdant’s death may not be as straightforward as it seems, and the real mystery lies in uncovering the secrets she left behind. Who among the gathered suspects holds the key to the truth?

    Use your detective skills to assist Lapis with unraveling the tangled web of motives and deception. Solve puzzles, interrogate suspects, and gather clues to crack the case and bring the elusive culprit to justice–if you can.

    Ticket Refund and Exchange Policy: Tickets are non-refundable and are only valid for the date selected. Tickets can be rescheduled to a different evening of Killer in the Conservatory for a $10 fee but may only be rescheduled if tickets are still available for a different evening. Ticketholders must call 508-869-6111 x174 to reschedule by 5pm the day before the date on their original ticket.

    Please note: Tickets will not be available to purchase onsite during the event. Pre-registration is required. General Admission discounts and passes do not apply to this special event. Pets should remain at home. Service animals are welcome throughout the property at all times.

  • Tuesday, March 11, 6:00 pm – Making History Gala

    The Massachusetts Historical Society is delighted to announce the 2025 Making History Gala at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston, will feature National Book Award-winning author Nathaniel Philbrick. Tickets are now on sale, with an early rate of $400 per ticket until December 31, 2024. Tickets increase to $500 on January 1, 2025. Proceeds from the Making History Gala support programming for K-12 students and teachers, collections preservation, free access to the MHS library and exhibitions, and other resources.

    Nathaniel Philbrick is a New York Times bestselling author of American history. He won the National Book Award for In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War. His books on the Revolutionary War have received national recognition. These titles include Bunker Hill: A City, a Siege, a RevolutionValiant Ambition: George Washington, Benedict Arnold, and the Fate of the American Revolution; and In the Hurricane’s Eye: The Genius of George Washington and the Victory at Yorktown. His writing on the American Revolution presents fresh perspectives and fascinating character studies that shed light on key figures and moments, allowing us to consider anew this critical juncture in our nation’s past.

    Members, join Historic New England this holiday season on December 13 for a very special evening at Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm. Enjoy holiday refreshments, listen to Irish folk group Killeeshil perform traditional Christmas music, and tour the first floor of the Manor House. Learn about how Christmas was celebrated and evolved throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Hors d’oeuvre and refreshments included.

    Boston Harbor Now, a non-profit organization whose mission is advocating for a welcoming, inclusive, and resilient harbor, waterfront, and harbor islands, announced that former The Boston Harbor Association (TBHA) President Vivien Li and marina developers and managers Ocean Havens will be honored with its 2024 Onboard Awards. Boston Harbor Now’s prestigious annual Onboard Awards celebrate individuals and organizations who are creating new public spaces that expand accessibility and belonging to the waterfront and set a new standard for exciting climate solutions that protect our waterfront and city for future generations.

    The Boston Harbor Association merged with the Boston Harbor Island Alliance to form Boston Harbor Now in 2016. Li served for nearly 25 years as TBHA’s executive director and president, advocating for the successful completion of the $4 billion harbor cleanup and the planning, development, and activation of large stretches of today’s 43-mile Harborwalk as fully open and welcoming to the public.

    Ocean Havens, based in Charlestown and led by husband-and-wife principals Chuck and Ann Lagasse, owns and operates the Boston Yacht Haven Inn & Marina, Charlestown Marina, Fan Pier Marina, Boston Harbor Shipyard and Marina, and marinas in Provincetown and Portland, Maine. Ocean Havens also provides marina and waterfront development professional consulting services.

    The Young Friends of the Public Garden welcome all to attend the sixth annual Winter Party at 8 Park Street, overlooking the lights on Boston Common. Prepare to shine in your chicest and most dazzling attire as we support the downtown parks in style. The party takes place December 6 from 6:30 – 8 pm.
