The prestigious Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show has come a long way since its humble single-marquee beginnings in 1913; the kaleidoscopic event is now an unmissable highlight of the British calendar and is world famous for its stunning displays, vibrant colors and innovative designs.
The Royal Oak Foundation is lucky enough to be visiting on Member’s Day, where RHS members, royals and celebrities take an exclusive first look at the floral extravaganza, set in the grounds of London’s Royal Hospital Chelsea.
The beautiful blooms continue with our exploration of Kent, often referred to as the Garden of England thanks to its rolling orchards, mild climate and fruitful allotments. There’s time to stop and smell the flowers at a host of horticultural wonders, from the idyllic grounds of Winston Churchill’s Chartwell and the juxtaposing masterpiece of Derek Jarman to the fragrant Sissinghurst Castle Garden and the striking Hole Park Estate, which we discover during a special Head Gardener-led guided tour.

At the New England Botanical Garden at Tower Hill’s annual orchid exhibition, immerse yourself in bright colors, bold designs, and vibrant patterns that celebrate the artistry of orchids. Great news! Although the Boston Flower Show, an early-spring favorite of New England gardening enthusiasts and professionals for decades, became a Covid pandemic casualty, its void will be filled by a new and exciting lifestyle show, the Utopia Horticultural and Epicurean Festival.
Utopia Seaport, designed to appeal to avid gardeners and foodies alike, takes place from March 2 – 5 at the Flynn Cruiseport Terminal in the South Boston Waterfront neighborhood.
Look for the Massport’s Cruise Terminal three floors to be filled with fantastic new experiences and entertainment, including immersive garden displays, a culinary demonstration stage, free tastings, workshops, a “Gardener’s Toolbench” featuring acclaimed horticulturalists, a cafe, a food hall, a “Mainstreet Marketplace” with over 100 artisans and makers, and even a live DJ.
Don’t miss this unique event, designed to let us dream about spring as we gaze upon the lush gardens and gorgeous floral displays while also savoring some of Boston’s best culinary and beverage delights.

New England’s Premier Flower Show, certainly a highlight of Topsfield Fair on September 29 – October 9, is located in the Flower Building. On exhibit are entries submitted by everyone from amateurs to professionals, children’s classes, juniors, and adults. Featuring landscape gardens by local nurseries and greenhouses, don’t miss the Bonsai display, window boxes, wreaths, and florist displays.

In collaboration with the Waltham Garden Club, Gore Place is very pleased to announce the return of its annual flower show, to be held this year on September 30 from 10 – 3. This is a rare opportunity to experience the spectacular 1806 Gore Mansion filled with classical and contemporary floral designs displayed throughout the 12 first-floor rooms. Each designer will create an arrangement inspired by the historic home’s beautiful architecture and furnishings. Visitors will walk through the house at their own pace. Shopping bags from our Handmade for the Holidays crafts fair must be left at the door and no food or drink is allowed.

The Sterling Garden Club presents “The Sterling Fair” September 9 – 10 at Sterling Airport. The Fair is a three day family oriented, community agricultural celebration with an emphasis on agriculture and education.
Admission and parking at the Sterling Fair is FREE. However, the fair relies on the sale of buttons, T-shirts, and ads to keep it free. Support your fair with a purchase or donation! We like to keep admission and parking free so you can enjoy spending the day with your family having fun at the fair.
The fair is run completely by volunteers, and with an annual attendance of around 40,000 people, it takes a lot of work to keep the fair going. These volunteers include 20 members of the Sterling Fair committee and over 50 additional people who help setup, run, and clean up after the fair.

The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society Livestock Show & Fair has grown into a four day island institution. From humble origins as a single day exhibition showcasing livestock and the enterprise of everyday life, the Fair has grown into an Island institution. The token final hurrah of summer, it is the place where islanders of all ages gather to meet—and eat—in the heat. The Heritage Museums and Gardens, 67 Grove Street in Sandwich is the setting for the 2023 Southeastern District Standard Flower Show. This major flower show is presented at Heritage by the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts Southeastern District’s garden clubs and its award-winning Design & Horticulture Study Group. See beautiful, creative floral designs, lush seasonal horticulture, fascinating educational displays, and artistic crafts alongside Heritage Museums & Gardens’ renowned collections. The 2023 Newport Flower Show will celebrate the early 19th-century custom of a trip as a means of gaining both exposure and association with the sophistication of Europe. The title of this year’s event is The Grand Tour.
Guests will be enriched by surroundings steeped in cultural and social history while delighting in all the color and beauty of the floral world. The Show will take place at Marble House, Newport, R.I., from June 23-25, 2023.
