Thursday, June 12 – Mass Hort Honorary Medals Gala
Meet and honor Julie Messervy, the designer of Weezie’s Garden, the innovative and popular children’s garden at the MHS Horticulture Center. Ms. Messervy is a regular contributor to Fine Gardening magazine and her books include Outside the Not So Big House, co-authored by Sarah Susanka, 2006. Also honored will be Robert L. Johnston, founder of Johnny’s Selected Seeds, Dr. Michael A. Dirr, The Huntington Family, Deborah Howard, and Les Mehrhoff. Proceeds from the event will fund horticultural education internships. Heritage Museums & Gardens, 67 Grove Street, Sandwich, Massachusetts, 10 am – 4 pm daily through October 31. This exhibition features reproduction drawings, watercolors, and photographs of New England gardens from Historic New England’s archives, supplemented by garden ornaments from Lyman and Codman Estates, and Hamilton House.
