    This Tower Hill Botanic Garden demonstration, in conjunction with Flora in Winter, will take you on a vacation for your senses – travel an herbal highway featuring culinary delights such as herb butters, syrups and cordials; scented treasures such as potpourris; feel good body products like massage oil and body powder; and visual delights such as pressed flower bookmarks and miniature dried flower arrangements. You will learn how simple it is to surround yourself with beautiful and unique items of an herbal nature. Handouts will be given to each participant with project directions. THBG member price $5, non-member price $8, presented by Karen O’Brien of The Green Woman’s Garden. The event will be given twice, once from 11 – 12:30, and again from 1:30 – 3:00.   • Wednesday, March 24, 5:00 pm – A Feast for the Garden Traveler

    Focusing on the Flower Show theme of A Feast for the Senses, Hilda Morrill, founder of bostongardens.com, will share some of the special gardens she has enjoyed in her world travels in a talk to be held in the Lecture Hall of the Seaport World Trade Center, 200 Seaport Boulevard, at 5 pm on Wednesday, March 24.  The lecture is free with admission to the Boston Flower & Garden Show.  For more information on the show, log on to www.TheBostonFlowerShow.com.

  • Tuesday, March 23, 7:00 – 9:30 pm – A Feast for the Senses Preview Party

    Tower Hill Botanic Garden, The Trustees of Reservations, and the New England Wild Flower Society invite you to preview the new Boston Flower & Garden Show on Tuesday, March 23, from 7 – 9:30 pm at the Seaport World Trade Center, Boston.  As the season’s first blossoms mix with fresh warm earth, pussy willows, and the gentle ripple of streams, the promise of Spring will greet you like a convivial maitre d’.  (That is the purple prose of the invitation, may we point out)  Proceeds from the evening will be shared by Tower Hill and NEWFS, and you may buy tickets ($75 each) on line at three web sites:  www.newenglandwild.org, www.thetrustees.org, and www.towerhillbg.org.   The Preview Party is sponsored by Paragon Group and Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School.  With each ticket purchased, receive a cooking class certificate, up to a $50 value.  You just can’t lose!
