    Our seed starting workshop covers all the essentials from selecting the right seeds and seedling care to when to transplant your seedlings outside. Whether you’re new to gardening or a seasoned pro, all are welcome! We will provide seedling trays/domes, labeling materials, growing mix, and our expert guidance. Bring your own seeds – even old seeds! We’re hoping this event be a seed swap too! Don’t have your own seeds? We have them for sale in our store and/or check out Boston Public Library Seed Libraries.

  • Summer 2023 CSA Sign Ups

    Martha’s Vineyard:

    Summer is almost here. Sign up now to reserve your weekly share of produce from the Island Grown Initiative Farm. The Summer CSA starts Thursday, June 15, and will run through Thursday, October 26. Your CSA membership supports a number of initiatives at Island Grown, from honing the regenerative growing techniques in our fields to the quality of the produce that we grow and all the way to the volume of food we’re able to donate through local channels.     Winchester:

All pickups are “on-farm” at 82 Ridge St, Winchester, MA at the basement door (north side) of our new All Seasons Barn. You can wait in line for contactless pick up, or park and walk down to grab your share.

    Siena Farms’ Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a collaboration between farmers and their customers.   • Wednesday, May 29 or Tuesday, June 18, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Foraging Walks with Russ Cohen

    The Greater Boston area is home to over 150 species of edible wild plants, many of which are more nutritious and/or flavorful than their cultivated counterparts.  Join Russ Cohen, expert forager and author of Wild Plants I Have Known…and Eaten, on a two hour ramble through Allandale Farm, 259 Allandale Road in Brookline, to learn about at least two dozen species of edible wild plants.  Pending favorable weather conditions, several edible mushroom species may be encountered as well. Keys to the identification of each species will be provided, along with information on edible portion(s), season(s) of availability and preparation methods. General guidelines for safe and environmentally responsible foraging will also be discussed. $20 per ticket, and two dates are offered: May 29 and June 18.

  • Friday, February 15 – Early Bird Deadline for 2019 Allandale Farm CSA Registration

    Sign up for a CSA share with Allandale Farm before February 15th and save. Take advantage of their Early Bird Special: Get 20 weeks of Allandale veggies for the price of 19! Plus, all CSA members receive 10% off in the store on their pick-up days. The store is located at 259 Allandale Road in Brookline. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a great way to support the farm and get a share of the coming season’s harvest. You receive a good value for fresh, local vegetables and in turn, the farm receives income in the winter months when the seed, plant and supply bills are piling up and other farm income is minimal or non-existent. Vegetable CSA: One share is at least one half-bushel of Allandale Farm grown produce per week for 20 weeks beginning in mid June. In your box, you will find a full representation of the crops we are harvesting at that point in the season. You will also receive a weekly CSA newsletter with crop and farm information, recipes and more.

    Each week, you’ll receive a diverse array of fresh vegetables representative of what we are harvesting from our fields. Your share might include seasonal combinations of…

    Arugula, beans, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, eggplant, fennel, garlic and garlic scapes, greens, herbs, leeks, lettuce, new potatoes, onions, sweet and hot peppers, radishes, scallions, spinach, spring lettuce mix, summer squash, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, turnips, watermelon, winter squash, and zucchini.

  • Sundays, September 30 and October 21, 5:30 pm – Allandale Farm Dinner with Mei Mei

    After Allandale Farm’s sold out 2017 events, the folks from Mei Mei food truck & restaurant are throwing another dinner party with Allandale Farm, located at 259 Allandale Road in Boston.
    We both love local food, fun times, urban farms, music, craft beer, and our friends and neighbors, so we’re putting it all together on the nights of Sunday September 30 and Sunday October 21. Dinners will take place in the lovely, rustic Allandale greenhouses! Bring your friends and family for a multi-course menu designed by James Beard-nominated chef Irene Li featuring lots of Allandale-grown produce. Tickets include one alcoholic drink (or non-alcoholic Haymaker’s Punch), and we’ll also have a cash bar for other beverages from our friends at The Beer Mobile. Get excited to meet your neighbors with delicious family style dining!

  • Saturday, May 12, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm – Mass Hort’s Gardeners’ Fair and Plant Sale

    A number of vendors will be on site at The Gardens at Elm Bank on Saturday, May 12 from 9 – 3, offering everything you need to plan, dig, plant, and enjoy your home garden space. The Gardeners’ Fair is an opportunity to find rare and unusual perennials, trees and shrubs; ready-to-plant herbs and vegetables; and tomato varieties by the dozens.

    It’s also a chance to hear talks by experts, find unique garden tools, garden ornaments and accessories, as well as other gardening necessities. The fair will feature tomatoes by Allandale Farm and the Herb Society Plant Sale. The event is free for Mass Hort members, and $5 per car for the general public.

    The New England Unit of the Herb Society garden will have their annual plant sale, and other plant societies will be there with exciting plants for sale. The Mass Master Gardener Association will host their Ask a Master Gardener booth and offer pH soil testing.

    Mass Hort will also be hosting a Tool Sale (please consider donating your tools and contact education@masshort.org) and the Library will be selling duplicate titles from their collection. Image below from http://theswellesleyreport.com.

  • Summer 2017 – A Flower CSA Partnership

    Allandale Farm is proud to announce that they’ve partnered with friends at Tiny Hearts Farm to host their 2017 Flower CSA. Tiny Hearts Farm grows, arranges, and delivers these beautiful bouquets, and you pick up your share weekly at Allandale Farm.

    Tiny Hearts Farm is a family-run organic flower farm located on 15 acres in Copake, NY. Check out their beautiful Instagram account @tinyheartsfarm to see what this farm is all about (a new website is coming soon!). Luke and Jenny are truly committed to gorgeous cut flowers. Allandale Farm, 259 Allandale Road in Chestnut Hill, is so excited to share all their hard work with you, and offer a high quality flower CSA option. A ten week flower share is $160, and a 15 week share is $240. Pick ups will be held on Tuesdays from 2 – 7 pm, beginning in late June.
