  • Friday, November 25 – Sunday, November 27 – 22nd Annual Original Castleberry Faire

    A New England Tradition continues and the crafters are back in a big way for the 22nd Annual Castleberry Faire Arts & Craft Festival, taking place at the Shriner’s Auditorium, 99 Fordham Road in Wilmington, MA Thanksgiving Day weekend, November 25, 26 & 27. This three day shopping bonanza includes over 250 of the nation’s finest craftspeople and artisans. This is the big one, folks, with over 250 juried exhibitors from throughout the United States displaying and selling their American made works including pottery, scarves, tapestry, fine jewelry, candles, turned wood, quilts, basketry, photography, painted antiques, metal sculpture, doll clothes, ceramics, soap, wall hangings, puppets, hair accessories, hats, primitives and folk art, stone relief, carved birds, soft sculpture, Victorian wreaths, leather, oil paintings, calligraphy, silk & dried floral arrangements, fleece, watercolors, country wood crafts, slate, ornaments, porcelain dolls, cameos, music boxes, quilt-pillows, aromatherapy, snowmen, fragrance, stained glass, lampshades, old maps, sport plaques, miniatures, intarsia, chimes, wearable art, blown glass and so much more. A “food sampling” extravaganza will be presented with such gourmet delights as: herbal dips, sauces, jams & jellies, candies, peanut brittle, fudge, vinegars, finishing sauces, pastry, cooking oils, salsas, chutney, jerky, baked goods and so much more.

    The Castleberry Faire runs Friday, November 25 from 9 am to 5 pm, Saturday, November 26 and Sunday November 27 from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission $8.00 Adult, under age 14 free.   • Thursday, September 24, 11:00 a.m. – The Herb Fair

    Please join The Herb Society of America (www.herbsociety.org)  for its 62nd Annual Fair, celebrating herbs. See the glorious garden,and shop at tables featuring fresh herbs and wreaths, jams, jellies and vinegars, potpourri, baked goods, books, plants, and more. We will have a raffle and a delicious herb-filled lunch with our Northeast Unit’s signature Lovage Soup. Admission is free; proceeds support herb gardens in the New York area.

  • Sunday, September 20, 11 am – 4 pm – Urban Agricultural Fair in Harvard Square

    Join Cambridge Local First for its First Annual Urban-Ag fair being held on the very historic site of the first marketplace in Newtowne (1630’s). The 2009 Urban-Ag fair will bring to market some of the most incredible locally grown fruits and vegetables ever seen. Prizes will be awarded for the tastiest, the biggest, the most interesting, and in some cases the ugliest fruits, veggies, baked goods, honey, flowers, preserves, pickles and eggs! Cooking demonstrations from local chefs, gardeners, and “Cambridge School student-growers” will be held throughout the day. Come to sample recipes and/or to stock up on the bounty of our harvest from our local farmers markets, get tips from local experts on composting, community gardening, rain barrels, and bee-keeping! All events are free, open to the public and family-friendly. Kids are encouraged to enter to win Student Prizes in every category!   • Saturday, August 22, 1:30 pm – South Middleborough Grange Fair

    The South Middleborough Grange #337 invites you to attend its 52nd Annual Grange Fair at the Grange Hall, 570 Wareham Street, South Middleborough, Massachusetts.  The Grange Fair is held in cooperation with the Massachusetts State Grange.  All exhibits of fruits, vegetables, flowers, canned goods, baked goods, needlework and crafts will be on exhibit beginning at 1:30 pm.  There will also be a baked goods sale and a bazaar.  A chicken pie supper will be served at 6 pm ($8 adults, $3 children), and at 7:15 there will be an auction of vegetables and flowers.  See the most gorgeous pumpkins, squash, beans, tomatoes, herbs, potatoes, onions – many with ribbons attached!  The South Middleborough Grange was organized in 1913 by 98 charter members, and annual events include clam bakes, dances, suppers and meetings with programs.  The annual agricultural fair is a long-standing tradition for the grange and community, and is symbolic of our agrarian past and continued support of rural and agricultural values.

  • Tuesday, August 18, 11:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. – Boston Public Market

    The Boston Public Market sponsored by Rodale on Dewey Square returns to the Greenway.  Together, Rodale Inc. (publishers of Organic Gardening Magazine) and the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway Conservancy are supporting the Boston Public Market and its farmers as they bring a robust seasonal market to Dewey Square Plaza.  In addition to fresh produce, farmers will sell eggs, cheeses, meats, breads, baked goods and other wholesome products grown or made in Massachusetts.  As the market season progresses, the Conservancy will provide live entertainment, seating and other amenities.  An authoritative resource for information on sustainable practices and wellness, Rodale will assist shoppers in making healthy choices through an iinteractive kiosk and related website.  The market will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through October.  For more information, log on to www.hellogreenway.org.
