    The Belmont Public Library and the Belmont Garden Club invite you to Books in Bloom, on Friday, May 8 from 6 – 8 pm at the Library on Concord Avenue in Belmont. Wander through the beautiful NEW Belmont Public Library and discover floral arrangements inspired by beloved books — each a unique creation designed and donated by the talented members of the Belmont Garden Club.

    Sip and swirl at a wine tasting hosted by The Spirited Gourmet, nibble on light refreshments, and enjoy live music. Whether you’re a book lover, a flower enthusiast, or simply looking for a wonderful night out, this is an evening not to be missed!

    Tickets: $30 — available in advance through Eventbrite or at the door.

  • Wednesday, January 20, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon – Residential Design: Try This at Home

    The Belmont Garden Club will meet Wednesday, January 20 beginning at 10 am in the Belmont Library Assembly Room. The program will feature Laura Bibler, who will speak on Residential Design: Try This at Home. The public is welcome to attend the program and a $5.00 guest fee is suggested.

    Since 1997, Laura has created and directed the installation of landscape designs at private homes and historic estates. Projects range from modest garden spaces to comprehensive master plans. She sits on the Executive Board of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, is a Corporate Trustee of The Trustees of Reservations, and is Chairperson of The Stevens-Coolidge Place Committee and author of A Guide to the Gardens.

  • Saturday, December 8, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm – Deck The Halls, A Holiday House Tour

    Preparations are underway for Deck the Halls, A Holiday House Tour, which will feature five distinctly different Belmont homes decorated to celebrate the winter holidays. Sherry Jones and Sue Kelleher, event co-chairs, promise that there will be no shortage of creativity as Belmont Garden Club members and designers apply their talents to transform entry ways and living areas into inspiring holiday settings. Mark your calendars now and plan to bring friends and family on what promises to be a beautiful way to catch the holiday spirit. Deck the Halls, A Holiday House Tour will take place Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 11 AM until 4 PM. Tickets with maps may be purchased that day at the Belmont Library between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Profits from the $35 per person ticket sales will benefit the community gardens and deltas cared for by the Belmont Garden Club as well as the Marion Wilkins/Marie Gray Scholarship awarded each year to a Belmont resident pursuing a degree in Biology, Landscape Design, Horticulture, Environmental Studies, Forestry, or another closely related field.  Image from furniture.trendzona.com.

  • Sunday, June 12, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm – Small Garden Sampler Tour

    The Belmont Garden Club has organized a Small Garden Sampler Tour on Sunday, June 12, from 10 – 4, beginning at 336 Concord Avenue, Belmont. : This “Small Garden Sampler” features six private gardens and a woodland garden. Hospitality Tent and scheduled demonstrations will be held at one of the garden sites. The tour will highlight creative gardening for smaller and/or challenging spaces. Tickets may be purchased at the Belmont Public Library.
