    Boston’s climate future is being shaped right now — and your voices are needed in the room.

    Join Boston Harbor Women of Color Coalition for its May Monthly Meet-Up, an inspiring and interactive evening where BHWOCC members – the experts, the storytellers, the ones whose neighborhoods and daily lives are impacted most by the effects of climate change in our city – lead the way on waterfront resilience, climate planning, and community-powered solutions.

    Together, we’ll get an exclusive briefing from the City of Boston Climate Resilience Team, and explore the future of Boston’s waterfront through conversations around the Boston Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Study — a major partnership between the City of Boston and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to protect neighborhoods from coastal flooding and climate impacts.

    This is not just a presentation — it’s a call to action!
    You have the answers. Your lived experience, cultural resilience, your community expertise is what shapes real solutions.

    As we mark the 55th anniversary of Earth Day, BHWOCC, in collaboration with the Conservation Law Foundation, invites you to a special event celebrating and uplifting women of color in the environmental sector.

    Join us on Tuesday, April 22nd, from 6 to 8 PM for an insightful conversation with impactful BHWOCC members who have made significant strides in environmental leadership in Boston.

    Our panel, “Women of Color in Leadership in the Environment,” will bring together voices from across the industry to share experiences, strategies, and reflections on the evolving landscape of green and blue spaces. Together, we’ll explore the future of these industries, the cultural wisdom that shapes our environmental work, and more. This is a great opportunity to connect, learn, and inspire alongside fellow BHWOCC members and other women of color in the field. Date & Time: Tuesday, April 22nd | 6:00 – 8:00 PM

  • Monday, November 18, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Potluck & Paint Night

    As we celebrate National Native American Heritage Month this November, we’re thrilled to announce our next Monthly Meet-Up: a Potluck and Paint Night in collaboration with the North American Indian Center of Boston (NAICOB)!

    Join us for a shared meal and a guided painting session with Geraldine Barney, an artist-in-residence known for her captivating work. Bringing a dish to the potluck is optional but encouraged—you’re welcome to enjoy the food even if you don’t bring anything. This event is for BHWOCC members. If you identify as a woman of color working in green or blue spaces, you’re invited to join us!   • Friday, July 12, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm – Netwalk in Nature

    The Boston Harbor Women of Color Coalition (BHWOCC) and Professionals of Color in the Environment (POCIE) are collaborating for Netwalk in Nature on Friday, July 12th on Peddocks Island from 9am-5pm.

    Netwalk in Nature is a professional development experience like no other! We’re taking over Peddocks Island to connect with each other and the outdoors by exploring the many career opportunities available on Boston Harbor and the greater environmental field. Join us to connect directly from folks at the Department of Conservation and Recreation, the National Parks Service, Massport and more while they take us around the island and share their professional experience and insights working on the water. You can also look forward to an engaging and relevant workshop with POCIE CoFounder Nia Keith, discussing strategies to navigate white dominated office spaces.

    This event is perfect for folks who are eager to learn more about the vast array of career opportunities and connections in the outdoors, people looking to network with both BHWOCC and POCIE members, and those looking to enjoy nature alongside other passionate people of color.
