    Thursday, December 17, 6:30 pm – A Green New Deal for Boston, Online

    The Blue Hills Climate Action Coalition presents a virtual lecture series on the climate crisis, showcasing a diverse mix of perspectives from within the climate crisis movement. Speakers will include climate change researchers, activists, youth leaders, and social scientists covering a variety of issues related to climate change, community resilience, and grounds for action. The series will be held on Zoom; pre-registration is required to receive the link to join the video-conference. 

    On Thursday, December 3, at 6:30, hear about A Green New Deal for Boston. What could the Green New Deal look like at the municipal level? Boston City Councilor and mayoral candidate Michelle Wu will share her recently published 15-point plan to address climate change and the important role municipalities can play in the future of our planet.     The Algonquin (Enbridge) transmission compressor station sited in the Fore River Basin brings many dangers to our region and to our planet. Alice Arena is the founder and president of the Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station in Weymouth, and on November 12 at 6:30 pm on Zoom she will discuss what a compressor is and does, what it means for our health and safety, and what the push for more methane distribution and use will do to our planet.

  • Saturday, April 21, 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm – Earthapalooza – Celebration of Earth Day

    On Saturday, April 21st, The Blue Hill Observatory will celebrate Earth Day with a fabulous event at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA. This is their Annual Fundraiser with all proceeds helping to support work in Weather Data Collection, Climate Research and Environmental Education. They are proud to maintain and continue the longest running homogeneous climate record in North America –133 years– and rely on your support.

    This Gala evening will feature live music from the fabulous Boston Band, “Rolling Who”, buffet dinner and a meet and greet with Boston Broadcast Meteorologists. Featuring interactive climate exhibits by local high school students, silent and live auction, and important speakers, this is a night not to missed.
