    What is a mushroom anyway? Can you distinguish a bolete from a gilled mushroom? Learn about the crucial and sometimes astonishing roles these fascinating life forms have in the ecosystem and methods for identifying them in the field. Explore the sanctuary to discover and identify the many fungi that can be found in Massachusetts throughout the year.

    This MassAudubon program will take place Sunday, August 14 from 1 – 3:3-, led by Jef Taylor, and is $24 for Massachusetts Audubon members, $29 for nonmembers. Also open to adults and youth 12 or older with an adult. Fees apply to all participants.

Join the New England Wild Flower Society and Jef Taylor (yes, that’s Jef with one “f”)at Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary in Lincoln for a walk around the sanctuary to discover as many fungi as we can. Learn about the crucial and sometimes astonishing roles these fascinating life forms have in the ecosystem and some methods for identifying mushrooms and other fungi in the field. $28 for members of NEWFS, $34 for nonmembers.
