  • Thursday, December 12, 8:00 am – 10:00 am – Boston Harbor Now Onboard Awards Breakfast

Boston Harbor Now, a non-profit organization whose mission is advocating for a welcoming, inclusive, and resilient harbor, waterfront, and harbor islands, announced that former The Boston Harbor Association (TBHA) President Vivien Li and marina developers and managers Ocean Havens will be honored with its 2024 Onboard Awards. Boston Harbor Now’s prestigious annual Onboard Awards celebrate individuals and organizations who are creating new public spaces that expand accessibility and belonging to the waterfront and set a new standard for exciting climate solutions that protect our waterfront and city for future generations.

The Boston Harbor Association merged with the Boston Harbor Island Alliance to form Boston Harbor Now in 2016. Li served for nearly 25 years as TBHA’s executive director and president, advocating for the successful completion of the $4 billion harbor cleanup and the planning, development, and activation of large stretches of today’s 43-mile Harborwalk as fully open and welcoming to the public.

Ocean Havens, based in Charlestown and led by husband-and-wife principals Chuck and Ann Lagasse, owns and operates the Boston Yacht Haven Inn & Marina, Charlestown Marina, Fan Pier Marina, Boston Harbor Shipyard and Marina, and marinas in Provincetown and Portland, Maine. Ocean Havens also provides marina and waterfront development professional consulting services.

The Onboard Awards will be officially presented at a breakfast ceremony on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Boston Harbor Hotel on Rowes Wharf. Information about becoming a sponsor of the awards event and tickets to attend may be purchased HERE. Individual tickets $250.

Ticket and sponsorship details may be found at www.bostonharbornow.org. The event features cruises to and from Spectacle Island, delicious food and drinks prepared by local vendors, lively musical entertainment, and a scenic sunset over the Boston Skyline. Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll will be the keynote speaker. She will share the administration’s vision on the preservation and protection of our shared harbor and its future. The Lieutenant Governor has been a critical ally in Boston Harbor Now’s work to epand water transportation, develop climate adaptation strategies for our shoreline, attract new visitors to Boston and the Commonwealth, and support our state’s blue economy and working ports.
