    Expect a day full of wings, wonder, and smiles at the 19th Annual Barbara J Walker Butterfly Festival, noon – 4 at Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center and Wildlife Sanctuary, Worcester. Watch butterflies fly free in their natural meadow and garden habitats, take naturalist-led walks to learn how they live and migrate, and get up close with live caterpillars exhibited by The Caterpillar Lab to see the full life cycle in action.

    Kids can explore butterfly crafts, and the whole family can join guided garden tours to discover which plants support butterflies and other pollinators. Show off your wings by coming in costume for the chance to win a prize!

    Round out the day browsing local vendors, exhibitors, and a native plant sale. Members receive an additional 10% off gift shop purchases on the day of the festival.

    Adult members $5, nonmembers $6. Children under 2 may attend for free. Registration with Mass Audubon required at massaudubon.org

    Celebrate butterflies with a day of educational fun for all ages! Join the Massachusetts Audubon Society at the Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center & Wildlife Sanctuary, 414 Massasoit Road in Worcester on Saturday, August 11 from 10 – 4 for the 11th Annual Barbara J. Walker Butterfly Festival.

    Festival Activities

    Naturalist-led walks & workshops
    Children’s activities including face painting, obstacle course, story tent, and nature-themed arts and crafts
    Live caterpillar exhibit, butterfly gardening information and hummingbird station
    Butterfly plant sales, including milkweed for monarchs
    Butterfly Photo Booth (bring your camera!)
    Delicious food, music, vendors, and much more!

    $6 Nonmembers • $5 Members* • Free for ages 2 & under
