On Saturday, April 28, from 9:30 – 11 at Hollister House Garden in Washington, Connecticut, learn how to create a landscape for your table that goes far beyond the usual cut flower arrangement. Well know designer and artist Chris Zaima will demonstrate the art of using miniature potted plants and succulents to make unique, sophisticated centerpieces. Following his talk and demonstration Chris will work with participants to create table landscapes to take home. Please bring your own container, suitable for a table centerpiece. Thursday, November 17, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – The Festive Table
Join the Massachusetts Horticultural Society on Thursday, November 17 from 1 – 3 at Elm Bank, 900 Washington Street for a workshop on The Festive Table with Betsy Williams, just in time for your Thanksgiving and holiday entertaining. Betsy Williams teaches, lectures and writes about living with herbs and flowers. A life long gardener, herb grower and cook, Betsy trained as a florist in Boston and England. She combines her floral, gardening and cooking skills with an extensive knowledge of history, plant lore and seasonal celebrations. An entertaining lecturer, she weaves stories and legends throughout her informative talks and demonstrations.
She has presented at Monticello, The American Horticultural Society’s Youth Symposium, the Pennsylvania Lavender Festival and International Herb Association as well as Colonial Williamsburg, the Ozark Folk Center and the New England, Rhode Island and Cincinnati Flower Shows. $25 for Mass Hort members, $40 for nonmembers. Saturdays, 11:00 am, beginning this Fall – Twig’s Floral Design Series Classes
Twig is now accepting enrollments in its fall design classes. There are two 6 week sessions, so enroll early as class size is limited. Courses include instruction on preparing flowers for arrangements, choosing the right vases, hand tied bouquets, centerpieces and a seasonal themed arrangement. The cost per session is $275.00.

-Participants will leave with an arrangement after each session.
