  • Wednesday, March 26, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Eastern – Sensory Chocolate Tasting, Online

    Bonnie Bennett, owner of Kakawa Chocolate House and an expert chocolatier, will guide participants through this March 26 one hour virtual class. Learn how to taste and pair different chocolates from around the globe. During the class, guests will have an opportunity to explore the distinctive looks, aromas, textures, and flavors that define different varietals and terroirs of chocolate-growing regions. In addition, Bonnie will share some of her extensive knowledge of the history of chocolate and expand upon some of the unique properties and unusual facts about cacao.

    Each $75 ticket includes a chocolate kit that will be shipped directly to the postal address entered when you register. One interactive kit contains enough chocolate to serve two people, a sensory tasting wheel, and a note sheet to record your observations.   • Wednesday, November 5, 1:30 pm – Food of the Gods: Chocolate Production from Bean to Bar

    This Wednesday, November 5 talk by Wellesley College Botanic Garden fellow Katie Goodall will explore the journey of chocolate from tropical landscapes to consumers all over the world.  Focusing on Latin America, she will discuss cacao’s botanical origins, cultural history, cultivation methods, and their ecological impacts.  And what’s a chocolate talk without a tasting?  Be sure to come (1:30 pm at the Visitor’s Center of the Botanic Garden) ready to savor the flavors of local specialty chocolates.   • Thursday, October 6, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – An Evening of Indulgence

    Please join The Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay for a fun evening, sampling the finest wines, outstanding cheeses, and delicious chocolates, a delightful mix of four perfect pairings from leading Back Bay wine and chocolate experts.  There will also be a silent auction featuring items from Back Bay businesses,  The auction items will be available for viewing on the NABB website, www.nabbonlinecom.  The event will take place at The Algonquin Club, 217 Commonwealth Avenue, on Thursday, October 6, from 7 – 9.  Advance ticket price is $45 for NABB members and guests, $55 for non-members, and $65 for all at the door, if available.  No one under the age of 21 will be admitted, and a photo identification will be required.  Sponsored in part by Hotel Chocolat, the Algonquin Club, and Bacco’s Wine and Cheese.
