  • Saturday, October 17, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Sip Local: Cider & Brewery Tour

    Go beyond the bottle with a private excursion to the Ragged Hill Cider Company, a leader in sustainable orchard management. Step behind closed doors for a rare, inside look at the cider production facility which is usually not open to the public, where renowned cider expert Steve Garwood will lead an intimate discussion on heritage apple varieties and the delicate science of fermentation. Apply your new horticultural and scientific knowledge to a curated heirloom apple and cider tasting, then take home your favorites with an exclusive 10% discount.

    This New England Botanic Garden tour on October 17 begins with a check in at 9:45 at New England Botanic Garden, where you will meet your host and driver. The scenic drive to Oakham will take you to Ragged Hill just in time for opening, a picnic lunch, and curated cider and heirloom apple tasting. You will return to NEBG by 2 pm.

    Optional box lunches can be ordered can be from Farmer & The Fork. They will delivered by NEBG staff on the tour (no need to pick them up). We will reach out to all participants with more lunch details and options. Box lunch costs are not included. You are welcome to bring your own lunch.   • Wednesday, November 30, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Cider Tasting with Curiosity Desk, Online

    The leaves are starting turn, the air is getting crisp and GBH is proud to offer its first virtual cider tasting event! Join cider master and founder of Pony Shack Cider, Nate McKinley, for a guided tour of Nate’s original ciders, all from the comfort of your own home.  

    THERE’S ROOM FOR TWO – Invite a partner to join you on this tasting adventure! Each ticket includes 4 cans of cider (enough for two to taste) that will be shipped straight to your door. You will also receive access to a guided tasting experience with Nate McKinley and The Curiosity Desk’s Edgar B. Herwick III and a 60-minute educational conversation on craft cider. 


    Space is limited for this exciting event, DON’T WAIT! Registration ends on November 9 at 5pm EST to provide ample time to ship the cider to your preferred address.

    Shipping Details:
    – Make sure that your address is submitted correctly (no typos!)
    – Register by 5pm EST on November 9, 2022 so we can ship your kit
    –Kits cannot be shipped to Canada and the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah and Virginia.
    – Any kits to be shipped to Hawaii will incur an additional $15 shipping fee
    – You will need to show identification and sign upon delivery to prove you are 21+ years of age. (We cannot deliver without this!)

    Head to the Kitchen at the Boston Public Market on Congress Street on Friday, November 13 at 6 pm for The Trustees of Reservations’ exclusive In-Ciders Only event. There will be cider tastings, cooking demos, and tasty hors d’oeuvres. We will have fun give-a-ways for those members and Globe Insiders that come.
