    The Friends of the Boston Park Rangers Mounted Unit will hold a cocktail reception on April 30 at 5:30 pm at the Boston Athenaeum for a milestone moment. The Park Rangers need our support as facility improvements are underway. This transformation will be the most ambitious endeavor to the organization’s history.     The 3rd Annual Charlesgate in Bloom benefit for the Charlesgate Alliance will take place on April 30 from 6 – 8 in The Somerset Lobby, 400 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston.

    This memorable evening for the Charlesgate community will feature wine, signature cocktails, hors-d’oeuvre, a silent auction and music.

    RSVP is required on or before April 30th. Cost per ticket is $90 (and up – sponsorships are available) and benefits The Charlesgate Alliance.

    The 2010 Newport Flower Show will take place at Rosecliff from Friday, June 25 through Sunday, June 27.  Tickets may be purchased at www.newportmansions.org.  The Opening Night Cocktail Party will take place from 6 – 9 pm on Friday, although the show itself opens at 10:30 am that morning, closing at 5 pm to ready itself for the benefit gala.  Hours on Saturday and Sunday are 9 am – 5 pm.  Bartlett Tree Experts are the Presenting Sponsor.  All proceeds from the Newport Flower Show are dedicated to the ongoing restoration and maintenance of The Preservation Society of Newport County’s 88 acres of gardens and landscapes.

    The Berkshire Botanical Garden has arranged for a series of Friday evening visits to spectacular private gardens featured in the Rich Pomerantz’s beautiful book, Great Gardens of The Berkshires. Enjoy this rare opportunity to roam these private spaces with the gardeners themselves while enjoying wine and hors d’oeuvre in the beautiful waning light of the summer day.
