All proceeds benefit the Museum’s vital school programs that serve over 14,000 k-12 students across the Commonwealth each year. The event takes place Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7 from 10 – 4.     Register now with The Cultural Landscape Foundation to explore this exceptional 2.4-acre property with rolling meadows and surrounded by a densely forested perimeter. This landscape includes a long, winding driveway, sunny perennial gardens, and elegant granite steps. The exclusive tour will be led by Michelle Crowley, principal of Crowley Cottrell, Architect Kelly Ennis Connellan of Jill Neubauer Architects, and Botanica Fine Gardens Meadow Consultant/Installation, Ed Kutchmanich.     The Concord Museum Guild of Volunteers is thrilled to present the 35th Annual Garden Tour on June 7 and 8, 2024.

    This event features carefully selected private gardens throughout Concord.  Funds raised provide critical support to the Museum’s education initiatives.     After two years of watching spring’s beauty through windows and screens, the time has come re-experience the outdoors! The Concord Museum Guild of Volunteers are thrilled to present the 33rd Annual Garden Tour in an in-person format.

    As it always has, this event will highlight carefully selected private gardens throughout Concord and provide critical support to the Museum’s education initiatives. This year there are six unique gardens that reflect the individual interests and passions of the owners and will delight amateur landscapers and experienced horticulturists alike.

    A return to an in-person Garden Tour means a return to the sensory experiences that make this event so special. While strolling through each exceptional garden you can look closely at the vibrant purples of petals and verdant greens of stems. You can smell the delicate fragrance of a flower in bloom. You feel the warm spring sunshine as it falls over your shoulders and sets the landscape alight.

    The Garden Tour will take place on two days, Friday and Saturday, June 3 and June 4, rain or shine. The tour is self-guided and self-paced, beginning each day at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until 4:00 p.m. Garden-goers should arrive at the Museum to pick up their maps prior to starting out.     The Museum’s Guild of Volunteers has organized this pre-eminent garden tour, an unequaled opportunity both to share in the delights of beautiful and historic private gardens in Concord and to support the Museum’s Education Programs which annually serve over 12,000 students from 85 Massachusetts communities and 22 states.

    The Museum’s Garden Tour has become a New England tradition for garden lovers from near and far. The Garden Tour will take place on two days, Friday and Saturday, June 1 and June 2, rain or shine. Each of the private gardens reflects the individual interests and passions of the owners and their families and will inspire both new gardeners designing their first perennial bed and accomplished landscapers with acres of “garden rooms.”

    The tour of Concord-area gardens is self-guided and self-paced, beginning each day at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until 4:00 p.m. Garden-goers should arrive at the Museum to pick up their maps prior to starting out.     From paths, to ponds, to pocket gardens – from borders, to backyards, to botanical gardens, native plant gardens are a growing trend! Join the Ecological Landscape Alliance (ELA) as we Celebrate Native Plants at designer-guided, homeowner-guided, or self-guided tours of private and public gardens that celebrate the beauty and ecosystem value of native plants and ecological practices.

    These two ELA Eco-tours (June 24 and August 12, from noon – 4) will:

    Feature gardens designed entirely or primarily with native plants.
    Educate attendees about the increasing options and applications for native plants.
    Demonstrate that native plant gardens can be beautiful as well as functional.
    Share insights into native plant combinations and gardening techniques.
    Discuss strategies for transforming sections of lawn into a biodiverse landscape.
    Promote native plant gardens as a safe haven for birds, butterflies, and native pollinators.
    Answer questions about native plants and habitat restoration.

    Thanks to generous homeowners, landscape designers, and area organizations, ELA invites you to join us for inspiration and education on these special tours to native plant gardens.     This Trustees of Reservations tour of the historic Old Manse grounds on Monument Street in Concord explores the evolving landscape, its role in two revolutions, and the symbolism of the Old North Bridge and the Manse as a place of memory expressed in art, literature and history.
