  • Saturday, July 14, 11:00 am – 1:30 pm – Daylilies and Their Friends, and Saturday, July 14, 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm – Daylily Show

    On Saturday, July 14, from 11 – 1:30, Debbie Carpenter will give a free with admission presentation entitled Daylilies and their Friends, showing perennials that make good companions in a daylily landscape. The beginning of the presentation will discuss general daylily information. Following the presentation Debbie will give the ever-popular demonstration on dividing a daylily clump. Immediately following the demonstration there will be a FREE raffle of the divisions from the demonstration to those in attendance. The event takes place at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, 11 French Drive in Boylston, Massachusetts, and more information may be found at www.towerhillbg.org.

    Debbie Carpenter is a retired high school biology and horticulture teacher, NH master gardener, and life-long home gardener. Her undergraduate degree is from UNH, where she also took post graduate work in horticulture. Since retiring, she has discovered the nearly perfect perennial, the modern hybrid daylily.

    The class will be followed immediately by the Daylily Show presented by the New England Daylily Society from 1:30 – 4.   • Saturday, July 25, 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm – The Daylily Show

    The Daylily Show returns to Tower Hill Botanic Garden on Saturday, July 25, and is open to the public from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Come see hundreds of the finest daylilies grown in New England. Divisions based on size and form will be judged by experts. The exhibition, presented by the New England Daylily Society, is a rare opportunity to view the incredible diversity of daylilies, the most popular and easiest to grow perennial, and to participate in raffle drawings as well as a workshop on how to divide a daylily clump. While on site, visitors can also explore Tower Hill’s 175 cultivars and three distinct species of daylilies interspersed throughout the formal gardens.

    Admission to Tower Hill not only includes the flower shows, but access to the impeccably-maintained formal garden areas, as well as the gift shop, art gallery, and restaurant. For children there are easy trails, blooming flowers, butterflies, frogs, the vegetable garden, scavenger hunts, and more to explore. The nonprofit is located at 11 French Drive in Boylston.   • Saturday, July 26, 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm – New England Daylily Society Exhibition

    The New England Daylily Society will present a Daylily Exhibition at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, 11 French Drive, Boylston, Massachusetts, on Saturday, July 26, where daylily enthusiasts of New England show their best grown, best groomed daylily flowers. The show will feature hundreds of cut flowers of daylilies in their breathtaking variety of form and color. A limited selection of choice daylily plants will also be for sale. The exhibition is included with regular admission to the Garden. Entries accepted from 7:30 am – 10:45 am, and the show is open to the public from 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm.   • Saturday, July 20, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm – N.E. Daylily Society’s Daylily Exhibition

    The New England Daylily Society will present a Daylily Show & Exhibition when daylily enthusiasts of New England show their best grown, best groomed daylily flowers. The show will feature hundreds of cut flowers of daylilies in their breathtaking variety of form and color. A wide variety of choice daylily plants will also be for sale from 11am-2pm, plus visitors will enjoy a “Cooking with Daylilies” demonstration with Chef John Lawrence of Pepper’s Fine Catering of Northborough, Mass.

    Show Schedule:

    11:15 – 12:15 pm: “Growing and Caring for the World’s Favorite Perennial: The Daylily,” presented by members of the New England Daylily Society

    12:15 – 1:15 pm: “Ask the Experts,” Daylily experts will answer questions about growing, hybridizing, dividing, or general cultivation of daylilies.

    1:15 – 1:30 pm: FREE Raffle, Enter a drawing to win a one-year membership to American Hemerocallis Society. Many daylily plants will also be raffled.

    1:30 – 4:30 pm: The Daylily Exhibition opens to the public. See more than 300 cultivars of the finest daylilies grown in New England. Divisions include Extra Large 7+, Large, Small, Miniature, Double, Polymerous, Spider, and Unusual Form. The Exhibition presents a wonderful opportunity to view the incredible diversity of daylilies.

    2 pm: Cooking Demonstration with Pepper’s Fine Foods Chef John Lawrence – “Cooking with Daylilies,” Classroom C.

  • Saturday, July 23, 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm – Daylily Exhibition

    Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, Massachusetts will host a Daylily Exhibition on Saturday, July 23 from 12 – 4.  This American Hemerocallis Society Accredited Show is sponsored by the New England Daylily Society.  From noon to one o’clock, enjoy a powerpoint presentation entitled Extending the Northern Daylily Bloom Season.  Learn how to extend the bloom season using Early, Late, Northern Rebloomers, and Bud Builder daylilies.  With careful selection, daylilies will be in bloom June to frost.  The presenter will distribute an article More is Beautiful, Extending the Northern Bloom Season, Parts I and II, to the audience.  There will be free raffles from 1 – 1:30, an American Hemerocallis Society Membership table with discounts and bonus gifts for joining, an exhibition, and of course, a sale.  Free with admission to Tower Hill.  For more information log on to www.towerhillbg.org.
