  • Wednesday, December 27, 3:30 pm – Therapy Dog Holiday Stroll

    The Boston Parks Department is sponsoring a guided local hike on December 27 at 3:30 pm, beginning at the Arlington Street Entrance of the Commonwealth Avenue Mall. Learn about the important role therapy and facility dogs have. Healthy, licensed, well behaved, non-reactive, and leashed dogs are welcome.   • Wreath of the Day – Who’s a Good Girl?

    Somehow we know we are going to regret this posting, because all you dog lovers out there are going to want this ribbon next year and we have absolutely no way to guarantee it will be available. We did have it this year, however, and the decorator made a quick trip to the convenience store for some Milk Bone dog biscuits, which she sprayed gold, as an extra enhancement to this wreath. To say it was a season favorite is an understatement.

  • Saturday, October 27, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm – Canine Promenade

    The Esplanade Association and Pawsh Dog Boutique are hosting a Canine Promenade on Saturday, October 27, from 10:30 – 12:30 at Fiedler Field on the Esplanade. The Canine Promenade is a 1/2‐mile Halloween costume parade around the Esplanade to benefit the park, highlight the park as a resource for dog owners and to raise awareness about park improvements. In the spirit of the season, we encourage you to dress up your dogs (and yourself) in costume.
    $10 registration donation per dog (purchase ticket on line at www.esplanadeassociation.org)
    Meet at Fiedler Field on the Esplanade (see www.esplanadeassociation.org for directions)

    Learn about the Esplanade as a resource for dog owners
    Your donation will help support the Association’s efforts to restore the park, including the historic Lotta Fountain. Please include your dog’s name when registering.

  • Sunday, November 15, 10:00 – noon – Arnold Arboretum Walk

    Explore the Arnold Arboretum, off path and up hill, with Chris McArdle of the Appalachian Mountain Club.  The three hour walk will be followed by a bagel lunch in Jamaica Plain.  Meet at the Visitor Center on the Arborway.  Park on the street or take the T to the Forest Hills stop.  Call Chris at 617-480-3351 if the weather is bad and you’re unsure if the walk will take place.  Registration is not required for this trip.  $1 for non- AMC members, and sorry, no dogs on this outing.  For more fabulous walks in the area, log on to www.outdoors.org.
