The Easton Garden Club will hold its Holiday Greens Sale on Saturday, December 1 from 9 – 1 at the Easton Historical Society & Museum, 80 Mechanic Street in North Easton. You will find fresh designer decorated wreaths, arrangements, potted amaryllis, bagged greens and berries, and all the necessary elements for holiday decorating or gift giving. There will also be spectacular door prizes. Free admission.
The Easton Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale of garden-dug perennials, annuals, and mother’s day gifts on Saturday, May 12 from 9 – 1 at the Yardley-Wood Skating Rink, 388 Depot Street in South Easton. On the same day, from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, the Garden Club of Concord will offer over 1,000 plants for sale, including perennials, herbs, annuals, vegetables and houseplants, many from the established gardens of club members, on the lawn of the Middlesex Savings Bank on 64 Main Street in Concord. Finally, for those of you in Dedham, the Fairbanks Garden Club will have its plant sale at Fairbanks House from 9 – noon. Support these clubs and pick up some treasures.

Enjoy an indoor display of decked-out holiday trees at Queset House, 51 Main Street, North Easton, sponsored by the Easton Garden Club. Hours are November 25, 6 – 9, November 26 and 27, noon – 9, and weekdays, November 28 – December 2, 4 – 9. The final day, Saturday, December 3, the Festival will be open from 10 – 9. There will also be a greens sale at the Railroad Station on Sullivan Avenue in the Village of North Easton. All trees are donated by individuals, local businesses, organizations, and schools. Many award-winning Easton Garden Club floral designers will participate, including Gloria Freitas-Steidinger, a past President and GCFMA accredited judge, who also holds the distinction of decorating for the White House. Admission: $5 adults, kids free. Tree raffle tickets will be available at the door (a sheet of 26 tickets is $8) For more information visit www.eastongradenclub.org, or email info@eastongradenclub.org.
The Natural Resources Trust of Easton (NRT) is a member-supported, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to educate about significant natural and cultural resources and to acquire and preserve land of special character for the benefit of the public. The NRT promotes a land ethic in the community through educational programming. The NRT provides leadership, cooperation and networking to others with a similar mission. The Easton Garden Club (www.eastongardenclub.org) participates each year in the Annual NRT Harvest & Crafts Fair. The Fair draws thousands of people from around New England who come to shop the many juried crafts booths.
The Easton Garden Club’s civic role in the Harvest Fair is one of education, providing informational handouts on topics such as composting, attracting butterflies to your garden, and tips on native plants and trees. There are many club members, knowledgeable about gardening, at its booth available to answer questions from the public throughout the day. Club members harvest flowers from their gardens and pick (non-endangered!) native flowers, grasses, and vines growing along the roadsides. They start in the late spring and continue through the fall. The flowers are dried and stored until the week before the fair when many of the club members gather together to make wreaths, dried arrangements, and bouquets of flowers to sell.
