Join Russ Cohen, foraging expert and author of Wild Plants I Have Known…and Eaten, for a New England Wild Flower Society sponsored walk at Dolliber’s Cove and Crowninshield Island in Marblehead, Massachusetts. You’ll learn how to identify, find, and prepare edible coastal plants safely and responsibly. Habitat: disturbed wetland and young woods habitat, plus a coastal island (please bring insect repellent and dress appropriately for the outdoors.) Known For: weeds and invasive species such as stinging nettle, burdock, Japanese knotweed, and black locust; natives such as fox grape, sassafras, wild lettuce, and sumac; and coastal species such as beach plum, beach rose, beach pea, and edible seaweed. $32 for NEWFS members, $38 for nonmembers.
