    Newton Community Farm (303 Nahanton Street in Newton Centre) will hold its 2018 Fall Festival on Sunday, September 23 from 11 – 3. This annual event is a fun, annual community party for kids and families, with pumpkin decorating, a farm treasure hunt, delicious snacks and food, and a lively kids’ sing-along. The mission of Newton Community Farm is to nurture a community that teaches and models sustainable agricultural and environmental practices on the historic Angino Farm.   • Saturday, September 22, 12:00 noon – 5:00 pm – Hoppy Fall Festival

    Celebrate fall and the resurgence of small craft brewers at Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich on Saturday, September 22 from noon – 5 at the Hoppy Fall Festival. The event features beer tasting from local and hyper-local breweries. Staff from each brewery are on hand to answer questions about their beers and brewing processes, plus you can indulge in fare from local food trucks while you enjoy your drinks in an autumn biergarten at the largest public garden in southern New England! Visitors can also enjoy fun, backyard games and commemorate the day by taking a photo with a display of living hops grown at Heritage.

  • Saturday, September 24, 12:00 noon – 5:00 pm – Gore Place Fall Festival

    Come celebrate fall with delicious local food, local craft beers, live local bands and entertainment for the kids. The 50-acre Gore Place estate in Waltham will be the perfect site for this “new tradition”. Tickets are just $10 adults (food and drink sold separately). Kids 12 and under and Gore Place members admitted free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No pets allowed. Free parking onsite.  Beer by Cape Ann Brewing Company and Hopsters.   • Saturday, October 13, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm – Pumpkin Day

    Celebrate the arrival of fall at Cogswell’s Grant, 60 Spring Street in Essex, on Saturday, October 13 from 11 to 4. Take a hay wagon ride through the fields to choose a jack-o’-lantern from our pumpkin patch. Decorate and carve pumpkins, compete in a pumpkin pie-eating contest, do craft activities and play games, have your face painted, and try cider pressing. Enjoy hot mulled apple cider and pumpkin pie. Tour the house and see one of the most celebrated collections of American antiques and folk art.
