    Breathtaking flowers bloom in the galleries during the Worcester Art Museum’s annual Flora in Winter four-day fundraiser. During this premier floral design event, skilled arrangers from across the region create captivating and imaginative interpretations of artworks in virtually every gallery of the Museum. It is a succulent feast for the eyes and spirit in the middle of winter. Sponsored this year by People’s United Bank and unum. Members: Free during exhibition hours; $25 for Flora Euphoria! with RSVP or $30 at the door. Nonmembers: $20 during exhibition hours; $45 for Flora Euphoria! with RSVP or $50 at the door.

  • Thursday, January 23, 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm – Flora Euphoria! Courtly Pleasures

    In anticipation of the Worcester Art Museum’s Knights exhibition in March, Flora Euphoria! will transport you to the time of King Arthur while you feast on inspired interpretations, hors d’oeuvre and a cash bar. Enjoy wandering minstrels and period costumed performers as we celebrate Flora in Winter and the integration of arms and armor into our renowned collection. The opening celebration will take place Thursday, January 23, from 5:30 – 8 (snow date Friday, January 24, 5:30 – 8) in the Renaissance Court/Galleries. Reserve by January 17 for a discount – $25 WAM members, $45 nonmembers, or, after January 17, $30 WAM members, $50 nonmembers.     The Worcester Art Museum comes alive Thursday, January 27 through Sunday, January 30, 2011 for the annual Flora in Winter celebration! Worcester Art Museum and Tower Hill Botanic Garden present Flora in Winter, the premier floral design event of the year. Skilled artisans from across New England create clever, provocative interpretations at both venues, interpreting this year’s theme “Moments in Time.”
