On Saturday, April 4 from 10 – noon, learn about general care for ornamentals, their role in food gardens, and some specific plants to consider for your space.   • Wednesday, December 11, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Winter Wonderland Fairy Garden Holiday Workshop

    Weston Nurseries’ fairies are getting in the holiday spirit this year! They have snowmen, sleighs, holiday mailboxes and more that will turn your fairy garden into a winter wonderland. Don’t forget to check out the ‘Fairy Tree’ in the Garden Center Holiday Shop for even more inspiration. The store, located at 93 East Main Street in Hopkinton, will stay open until 8:00pm that night so plan to end the evening with private shopping.

    Cost: $10 Workshop fee includes registration, soil and moss. Additional items such as the planter, plants, fairies, fairy houses and stepping stones are priced a la carte. Space is limited. Please call 508-293-8091 to reserve your spot.

  • Sundays, April 28 and May 5, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm – The New American Garden

    Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich will host author C.L.   • Saturday, April 18, 9-12 – Organic Gardening Skills Workshop

    On April 18 from 9am-12pm at City Natives in Mattapan on 30 Edgewater Drive, the Northeast Organic Farming Association/ Massachusetts Chapter (NOFA/Mass) is holding a workshop on how to start and maintain successful organic gardens The event is part of the Massachusetts Organic Gardening Workshop Day, which is designed to meet the recent resurgence of energy and action for backyard and community gardening. Similar events will be held in 12 other towns and cities throughout the state. Topics that will be covered at the workshop include: starting garden beds, seed starting, organic soil fertility, organic soil amendments, mulches and cover crops, weeds, disease and pests, what to plant when, crop spacing, and succession cropping. Workshop participants are also strongly encouraged to bring their own questions to the workshops.
