    Come to Tower Hill Botanic Garden on Friday, December 1 from 11:30 – 2:30 and enjoy an afternoon making some lovely aromatic holiday gifts. Participants will make a body butter, a relaxing or detoxifying bath salt, a holiday room freshener and a relaxing herbal dream pillow. In addition to making your home smell nice, a room freshener made with essential oils contains anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-septic properties which can help to keep the germs and bugs in any environment at bay during the winter months when colds and flu are common. Basic aromatherapy blending techniques will be taught as well as the benefits of using quality practitioner grade aromatherapy essential oils. You will leave with four gifts for yourself or to share with others and the knowledge to make more of these herbal products. All materials for the class will be provided as well as class notes and recipes. Tower Hill member price $50, nonmembers $60.   • Thursday, October 20, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm – Holiday Gifts from the Garden and the Heart

    Not every gift has to be purchased from a store. You can create beautiful things from your garden. In conjunction with the Wellesley Free Library’s ‘Wellesley Reads Together’ Program, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society presents an evening of demonstrations on creating holiday gifts on Thursday, October 20, from 7 – 8:30.   • Saturday, June 19, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – East Meets Southwest

    Twig, the  flower shop at 83 Charles Street, has invited noted Santa Fe impressionist Joseph Breza to exhibit his remarkable work at its Beacon Hill location.  Breza is extremely accomplished, and has exhibited internationally.  He is known for his use of color and bold brushstrokes in brilliant Impressionistic landscapes, garden still lifes and scenes from France, Italy and New Mexico.  Also on display, naturally, will be beautiful flowers and unique gift products.  The reception will begin at 6 pm and admission is free.  You may call 617-292-8944 for more information.  Roses For Emily is pictured below.

  • Thursday, July 9, 10 – 4 – Enchanted Garden Tour of New Seabury

    Join Heritage Museums discovering the enchanted private sanctuaries of New Seabury and Popponesset Island on Thursday, July 9th, 2009 from 10a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine). All proceeds benefit the many wonderful programs and activities at Heritage Museums & Gardens. Make the day even more special with a luncheon at the New Seabury Club.  The extraordinary vistas from the main dining room are the perfect complement to your garden tour experience!

    The gardens are located throughout the New Seabury & Popponesset Island area and all can be reached by car. Parking is available near and around all the homes on the tour. Be prepared to walk from parking areas to each of the gardens.

    There will not be any shuttle services provided. This is a garden tour and walking is involved. Please be prepared with comfortable walking shoes—and dress for the weather !

    A Garden Boutique will be on display and for sale in the main lobby at New Seabury Country Club, featuring stunning floral jewelry and exclusive gifts for the garden and home, inspired by the horticultural collections of Heritage Museums & Gardens.
