    The highlight of the harvest season is the 31st Annual Lenox Apple Squeeze, a family weekend running from 10 to – 6 on Saturday and on Sunday the 25th and 26th. Painters, sculptors, crafters, jewelry and textile makers display their wares throughout the village.   • Saturday, August 21, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm – Tomato Festival at Allandale Farm

    This year’s festival, on Saturday, August 21 from 11 – 3,  at Allandale Farm, 259 Allandale Street in Brookline will include live music, hayrides, kid’s activities, corn on the grill and, ohhhhh those tomatoes, in every size and color imaginable.  $7 per person, children 12 and under free.   • Saturday, August 14, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Summer Peach Celebration

    Brooksby Farm, 54 Felton Street, Peabody, will hold its annual Summer Peach Celebration on Saturday, August 14, from 11 – 2.  Pick your own peaches from an abundant selection of orchard ripe fruit (wear appropriate shoes, please – sandals are not recommended, and flip-flops are just plain silly).  Enjoy some sampling in the farm store: jams, preserves, fruit pies, grilled peaches.  Pick up quick and easy recipes.  There will be a children’s coloring contest, tractor drawn hayrides, and more.  For more information log on to www.brooksbyfarm.org, or call 978-531-7456.

  • Saturday, June 19, 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm – Strawberry Festival

    Celebrate the local strawberry season on Saturday, June 19, from noon – 4, at Verrill Farm, 11 Wheeler Road in Concord.  Food will be served a la cart, with strawberry shortcake made from scratch in the farm stand kitchen, plus hot dogs, hamburgers, and beverages.  There will be live music by Southern Rail, Giddy Up Pony rides, and hayrides.  For more information, log on to www.verrillfarm.com.

  • Saturday, October 31, 3:30 – 5:30 pm – Clarendon Street Playground Halloween Party

    Join your friends and neighbors for the Annual Halloween Party on Saturday, October 31, from 3:30 – 5:30 pm.  Pizza, drinks, and glow necklaces will be available for purchase.  Entertainment and variety shows will be provided by Jenny the Juggler.Hayrides around the neighborhood, photography by Aurora De Luca, and trick or treating safe house lists will be available as well.

    Marlborough Street between Berkeley and Fairfield Streets, as well as Dartmouth and Clarendon Streets between Commonwealth and Beacon, will be closed to traffic from 3:30 pm – 9:30 pm.  Parked cars may stay there during this time, but they cannot be moved.
