  • Saturday & Sunday, December 6 & 7 – Christmas in Salem: Boughs & Blooms

    This year, Historic Salem, Inc. is pleased to celebrate the season with “Boughs & Blooms: Christmas in Salem 2025.” Join us as we visit some of Salem’s most beautiful spots downtown, down Summer Street, and at the edges of Broad, Essex, and Chestnut Streets.

  • Friday, December 1 – Sunday, December 3 – 38th Annual Christmas in Salem House Tour

    Few communities have the rich legacy of historic houses that Salem, Massachusetts boasts. These homes, spanning four centuries, help define the character as well as the appearance of the city, and every year some of their owners invite visitors in to view their homes decked out in full holiday regalia, with the help of professional decorators and florists. Christmas in Salem features a glimpse into these private homes that have been professionally decorated for the holiday season as well as a series of special events such as walking tours and wine tastings that are exclusive to Christmas in Salem ticket holders. The tour, held December 1 – December 3, is sponsored by Historic Salem. A preview of 4 of the 13 houses will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 5:30–8:30 pm and will feature selected homes. On Saturday, December 2 from 10:30 am–4:30 pm and Sunday, December 3 from 11:30 am–4:30 pm all sites will be open for tours.Tickets may be purchased online at http://christmasinsalem.org, or by calling 978-745-0799.

  • Friday, December 5 – Sunday, December 7 – 35th Annual Christmas in Salem House Tour

    This year’s historic holiday house tour will be taking place in South Salem, showing residences that both escaped the Great Salem Fire of 1914 and those that rebuilt with beautiful Colonial Revival details. History will focus on life and renewal of the neighborhood “after the fire.” Special tours and activities will be taking place in “La Pointe.”  December 5-7, 2014, presented by Historic Salem, Inc.

    Featuring historic homes decorated for the holidays, walking tours, music, restaurants, wine tastings, and shopping specials.  For more information, please contact Historic Salem, Inc. at978-745-0799 or info@historicsalem.org. Tickets are $30 ($35 on day of tour,) and advance ticket purchasers will receive special entry to the Friday night candlelight preview of three selected houses.   • Friday, December 4 – Sunday, December 6 – Christmas in Salem

    The 2009 Legacy Tour, sponsored by Historic Salem, Inc.,  steps back in history, featuring 18th and 19th century homes in the Salem Common Neighborhood.  A Candlelight Tour will begin Friday, December 4, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.  On Saturday, December 5, the tour will be open from 10:00 am – 4:30 pm, and on Sunday, December 6, from 11:30 am – 4:30 pm.  There is a Snow Date: Saturday, December 12, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.

    It’s Historic Salem’s 65th anniversary, and Christmas in Salem’s 30th holiday house tour. What better way to mark these milestones than with a Christmas house tour that includes historically significant sites on or near this year’s route, which is centered around the Salem Common neighborhood.

    Christmas in Salem will indeed be bigger and better than ever, starting with this website to let you know all about tour features in advance. And there’s lots to share, including information about other holiday events taking place in Salem.
