    As summer fades into fall we have invited some of the premier growers in New England to set up shop at Hollister House Garden. This is a special opportunity to purchase choice plants from Broken Arrow Nursery, David Burdick Bulbs, Cricket Hill Garden, Falls Village Flower Farm, Issima and Mc Cue Gardens.

    Enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles as you shop and visit the garden, located at 300 Nettleton Hollow Road in Washington, Connecticut. Hollister House Garden Members $30 Non-Members $35

    The 11th Annual Nantucket Garden Festival highlights the unique and beautiful garden ecosystems on Nantucket and focuses on the importance of sustainability, conservation and gardening ethics for the long-term health of the island. Scheduled for July 16th-18th, the festival celebrates gardening through creative workshops, exquisite garden tours, children’s workshops, family activities and an opening night party. Register at http://www.ackgardenfestival.org/

    Eliot Coleman and Barbara Damrosch will speak, and Ed Bowen and Taylor Johnston of Issima will give a talk on The Cutting Garden Reimagined.

    On Wednesday, July 17 from 6 – 9, the Garden Soiree ($175 before June 30, $225 thereafter) will be held at The Middle Brick, 95 Main Street, a benefit for the Nantucket Lighthouse School. The School is the venue for the three day Garden Marketplace. Five different garden tours are also planned. Buy your tickets now.

    Be inspired by a day long symposium on Saturday, September 8 at Hollister House Garden, 300 Nettleton Hollow Road in Washington, Connecticut (the Berkshires) featuring:

    Sarah Price – one of Britain’s most prominent garden designers on Plants First
    Kelly Norris – award-winning plantsman and author on Planting on the Wild Side
    Lynden Miller – public garden designer on Beatrix Ferrand:Inspiration and Mentor
    Taylor Johnston and Ed Bowen – of Issima on The Cutting Garden Reimagined
    Barbara Paul Robinson – passionate gardener and author of Heroes of Horticulture
    Each reservation includes continental breakfast and lunch at the symposium and cocktails and preview buying at the Sale of Rare and Unusual Plants at Hollister House Garden.
