  • Saturday, July 18, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.- Historic Homes and Summer Garden Tour

    The Hancock New Hampshire Woman’s Club will sponsor a Historic Home and Summer Garden Tour on Saturday July 18, 2009. Six distinctive homes and 5 additional gardens will be showcased. View 200 year-old homes and an adaptation of a mid 1800’s New England connected farmhouse. Luscious gardens on the tour vary from formal to off-the-grid. Birders will be interested in visiting the gardens of renowned birders, Don & Lillian Stokes. Don & Lillian will be available to discuss birds and their spectacular gardens.Tickets are $20 each or two for $30 if purchased in advance.  $25 at the door.  Tickets may be purchased on the Club’s website, www.hancockwomansclub.com.  You may also call 603-525-4970, or 603-547-7391.

  • Sunday, July 19, 10 – 4 – Grand and Gracious Gardens

    You are invited to attend the Bar Harbor Garden Club’s 75th Anniversary Garden Tour on Sunday, July 19, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., rain or shine.   Located from Bar Harbor to Salisbury Cove, transportation will be available on the Island Explorer.  The Garden Tour will benefit a number of Mount Desert Island gardens, foundations, and libraries.   • Saturday and Sunday, July 18 – 19 – Pittsfield Garden Tour

    If you are in the Berkshires, plan to attend the Pittsfield Garden Tour on Saturday, July 18 (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) or on Sunday, July 19 (noon – 4:00 p.m.).  This is a self guided tour of seven gorgeous private gardens designed and maintained by the homeowners, as opposed to professionally designed and maintained premises.  Plus, there will be an inspirational garden dedicated to the memory of AIDS victims.  Tickets ($15 for adults, free for children 12 and under) are available at 480 West Street in Pittsfield.

    Also, on Saturday, there will be a silent auction of hand decorated and embellished birdhouses.  The auction ends at 5:30 p.m. and no ticket is necessary to participate in the silent auction.  The birdhouses can be seen, and bids placed, at the Garden Tour Headquarters, 480 West Street, Pittsfield.  For further information, contact Anne W.
