  • Saturday, June 19 – Sunday, June 27, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm – Aunt Sadie’s and Gracie Finn’s Mahoney’s Pop Up Store

    Aunt Sadie’s and Gracie Finn, located at 18 Union Park Street in Boston’s South End, announced today they will host a Pop-Up Store featuring Mahoney’s Garden Center from Saturday, June 19th – Sunday, June 27th. The kick off coincides with the South End Garden Tour.

    Kick off for the event will be on Saturday, June 19th from 10am – 6pm. Representatives from Mahoney’s will be on-hand throughout the day and there will be a large Mahoney’s box truck parked in front of the store and a huge sidewalk sale of Mahoney’s plants, pots and container gardens. There will also be demonstrations throughout the day by Mahoney’s staff on proper planting techniques, selecting appropriate plants for container gardens, etc.

    Aunt Sadie’s and Gracie Finn will continue to feature Mahoney’s plants and pots in the Pop-Up Store from Sunday, June 20th – Sunday, June 27th. “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Mahoney’s for the Pop-Up Store”, noted co-owner Gary Briggs. “This will present a unique and exciting opportunity for South End, South Boston, Dorchester, Bay Village, Beacon Hill and Back Bay residents to enjoy the special products that Mahoney’s has to offer without going to one of their 8 stores in the suburbs.”

  • Saturday, June 13, 10 – 12 and 1 – 3 – Meet and Greet with Patti Moreno, The Garden Girl

    Patti Moreno, “The Garden Girl”, contributor to Fine Gardening, Organic Gardening Magazine, and Farmers Almanac, will be at two Mahoney’s Garden Centers in Osterville and Falmouth on Saturday, June 13, to answer questions and give advice on gardening with vegetables and herbs.  She will be in Osterville between 10 a.m. and noon, and in Falmouth from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  No sign up is necessary.  For directions, log on to www.mahoneysgarden.com.  Be sure to log on as well to Patti’s website, www.gardengirlTV.com, and put it on your “favorites” list.  The website is dedicated to informing and educating the world on methods for Urban Sustainable Living, which really is the topic of The Garden Club of the Back Bay’s 2009/2010 speaker series.  Patti is a resident of Roxbury, and her site will make us more aware of ways to live a healthy lifestyle by eating an organic diet, save money by growing our own produce when possible, and consume fewer natural resources.

    Mahoney’s Garden Center in Winchester will host a live broadcast of Paul Parent’s Gardening Advice show on Sunday, June 7 at Mahoney’s Garden Center in Winchester, Massachusetts.  Paul Parent has been on the radio providing gardening advice to listeners in New England for the last twenty years.  Paul’s expert gardening advice is now heard on stations all over the country with one half million listeners.  The Live Broadcast is from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., and the Q & A will be from 10 a.m. – noon.  Seating is limited so please sign up early to reserve your seat.  Log on to www.mahoneysgarden.com for more information and to register.  The same event will take place in Falmouth on Sunday, June 28, from 6 a.m. to noon.
