    The Trustees of the Southwest Harbor Public Library invite you to attend a Garden and House Tour “A Festival of Flowers on Mount Desert Island, Maine” Sunday, July 26, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., rain or shine.  For 20 years the library has been bringing the special pleasure of visiting local private gardens to the public, this year featuring six lovely gardens strung along the shore from Southwest Harbor to Manset, to Bass Harbor and up to West Tremont. .   • Sunday, July 19, 10 – 4 – Grand and Gracious Gardens

    You are invited to attend the Bar Harbor Garden Club’s 75th Anniversary Garden Tour on Sunday, July 19, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., rain or shine.   Located from Bar Harbor to Salisbury Cove, transportation will be available on the Island Explorer.  The Garden Tour will benefit a number of Mount Desert Island gardens, foundations, and libraries.   • Tuesday, July 14, 10 – 5 – The Art of Gardens

    A garden tour with artistic flair! Stroll through nine gorgeous gardens (six are seaside gardens) and watch as well-known artists render the beautiful scenes in various media. The paintings will be for sale. The gardens are located in and around the charming coastal town of Blue Hill, Maine.

  • Sunday, July 12, 10 – 5 – Georges River Land Trust Garden Tour

    18th “Gardens in the Watershed” tour in mid-coast Maine, featuring seven country gardens in Spruce Head, Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde. A gourmet bag lunch is available by pre-order through the Georges River Land Trust office. Sponsored by and to benefit the Georges River Land Trust. Tickets are $20 in advance, $22 on tour day.
