  • September 6, 12:00 noon – 3:00 pm – NABB Block Party

    Come join The Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay on September 6 at noon (rain date September 13) for the most requested activity from the Back Bay Quality of Life Survey—a Block Party to meet your Back Bay neighbors. We are planning exciting activities for all ages. Enjoy ice cream, entertainment, and local food. Admission is free, with most food and beverages free. It will take place on the Commonwealth Avenue Mall, between Clarendon and Dartmouth Streets, at the Patrick Collins statue with a check-in table at the Clarendon Street entrance.

    Please register in advance to ensure food and beverage accuracy.

    Join the Women’s Lunch Place and the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay on Thursday, November 14 at 6 pm for a festive benefit for Women’s Lunch Place and NABB. The event takes place at 67 Newbury Street in Boston. Mingle with your neighbors during this fun event while supporting two worthwhile causes! Enjoy a delicious harvest of culinary selections, wine, and craft beers.

    Get some early holiday shopping done during our Silent Auction, which features sports tickets, restaurant gift cards, and more. We will also have an art gallery full of beautiful creations from WLP guests, all available for purchase.     Save the date, Monday April 29 from 6 – 7, for an online presentation by the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay Green Committee, followed by a Q & A with Emily Norton, Executive Director of the Charles River Watershed Association, who will discuss the threat of flooding in the Back Bay and what steps can be taken to mitigate our increasingly extreme weather.   • Saturday, October 21, 11:00 am – Women’s Memorial 20th Anniversary Celebration

    The Boston Women’s Heritage Trail invites you to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Boston Women’s Memorial on Saturday, October 21 at 11 am. Meet at the statue on Commonwealth Avenue at Fairfield Street, on the Commonwealth Avenue Mall. Meredith Bergmann, Sculptor, will be the featured speaker. The event is co-sponsored by the Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay and by The Friends of the Public Garden. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square. Free.

  • Wednesday, August 2, 7:00 pm – Rendezvous by The River

    The Neighborhood Association of the Back Bay Special Events Committee invites you to a live evening on the Esplanade with the Boston Landmarks Orchestra on Wednesday Aug 2nd  at 7:00 P.M. at the DCR Hatch Shell.  If there was ever a reason to join NABB now, this is it.

    The concert will feature George Gershwin’s An American in Paris and a Dvorak cello concerto. A special prelude concert with the Four Strings Academy will set the stage for the rest of the evening. 

    Please feel free to bring a picnic or snack for dining under the stars at the event. You are welcome to bring chairs, towels and blankets and even your dogs! No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park. There is no charge for this event. However, chairs are available for rental that evening for $5 each. We will be gathering near the information booth. Look for the NABB sign.

  • Wednesday, August 15, 7:00 pm – Rendezvous by The River

    The Neighborhood Associationn of the Back Bay Special Events Committee invites you to join them for an evening on the Esplanade with the Boston Landmarks Orchestra on Wednesday, August 15, at 7:00 pm at the DCR Hatch Shell.

    The evening’s presentation will be “Sounds of the Sea.” In this concert, animal songs and representations of sea life are woven together in a program conceived and presented in collaboration with the New England Aquarium. The Music of Maurice Ravel, Stella Sung, Claude Debussy and Bernard Hermann will transport us to the ocean. Debussy’s La Mer summons up the mysterious power and  psychological depths of the wind and waves. Also, Moby Dick rises again in the haunting music of Bernard Herrman, Alfred Hitchcock’s most frequent collaborator. 

    If you are planning on bringing a picnic or food for dining under the stars at the event, please be aware that the DCR will be checking bags and backpacks. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park. There is no charge for this event. However, chairs are available for rental that evening for $5.00.
