  • Saturdays, October 5 and 19, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon – Annual Boston House Museum Alliance Tour

    Admire the exteriors of five landmark historic houses, experience four centuries of architecture, and explore three of
    the city’s iconic neighborhoods on this two-hour walking tour that winds its way across picturesque downtown Boston, making for one special experience. From Colonial to Federal to Victorian, the stylistic intricacies of the Paul Revere House, Otis House, Nichols House, Prescott House, and Gibson House will be highlighted.

    Additionally, show your ticket to receive free admission at all five houses during the month of October. (Please note that the Nichols House Museum will be closed in  October for site management; ticket holders should call the Nichols House Museum at 617-227-6993 to learn how and when they can redeem a tour.) 

    October 5 Guide: Keith Trickett
    A tour guide and educator at Historic New England’s Otis House Museum, Keith is a member of History Alive!, an interactive theater company dedicated to producing plays about the past. He also brings Samuel Adams to life on “Tavern Nights” at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. 

    October 19 Guide: Matthew Dickey
    Matthew Dickey is Communications and Operations Manager with the Boston Preservation Alliance and Co-Leader of the Rust Belt Coalition of Young Preservationists. He has given independent architectural tours of Boston and possesses a deep interest in preservation and creative storytelling.

  • Monday, July 13, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Three Sites, One Mission: North End Design Crawl

    Preservation, architecture and design – each of these disciplines play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of Boston’s historic fabric. Join The Boston Preservation Alliance on Monday, July 13 at 6 pm for its first-ever young professionals Design Crawl, during which you’ll go behind the scenes at Walsh Brothers Construction, the Paul Revere House and North Bennet Street School – three venues that engage in historic preservation daily, yet in radically different ways. You’ll also stop by the proposed historic Haymarket Hotel site to explore a real-world example of design challenges, followed by drinks at Ward 8. We can’t wait to see you there!

  • Monday, December 3 – Sunday, December 31, 9:30 am – 4:15 pm – Traditions of the Season at The Paul Revere House

    Step back in time to the holiday season in 18th century Boston with a visit to downtown Boston’s two oldest houses, the Paul Revere House (c. 1680) and the neighboring Pierce-Hichborn House (c. 1711). 18th century music and food and drink set the mood while costumed interpreters reveal sometimes surprising colonial holiday customs. Enjoy complimentary refreshments of mulled cider and delicious treats based on early American recipes served on the first floor of the Pierce-Hichborn House. Each afternoon from 12 to 4 PM R. P. Hale plays overtures, melodies, and Anglican Advent songs on a harpsichord and hammered dulcimer. Adults $5, seniors and college students $4.50, children ages 5 – 17 $1.50.   • Sunday, April 29, 12:00 noon – Celebrate Cyrus Dallin’s Paul Revere Statue

    On Sunday, April 29,  visit with Paul Revere on The Prado – The Paul Revere Mall – where the famous Cyrus Dallin statue of Paul Revere is located. David Connor brings Boston’s favorite patriot to life during a special event honoring the 150th anniversary of Cyrus Dallin’s birth. You’ll be able to ask “Paul” about the details of his midnight ride, inquire about his 16 children, or engage him in conversation about his activities as a member of the Sons of Liberty. This special event organized by NEWRA’s Parks and Open Spaces Committee and co-sponsored by the Paul Revere House, the Cyrus Dallin Museum, Friends of the Prado, and the Old North Church begins at 12:00 and will include a formal program, a re-enactment of the dedication of the statue, and fun for the whole family!
