  • Tuesday, February 22, 6:45 pm – Principles of English Garden Design

The Norwood Evening Garden Club will host Frederick Rice, a dynamic, multi-faceted speaker who brings a lifetime of experience in horticulture, theater and travel to audiences throughout the northeast and Europe, on Tuesday, February 22, at 6:45 at the Carriage House behind the First Baptist Church, 71 Bond Street, Norwood.  His lecture is entitled Principles of English Garden Design.

To many, English gardens appear to lack a design focus, but nothing could be further from the truth. Whether you’re thinking of creating an English garden or want to be inspired by these design principles to enhance your current garden, you will want to attend Mr. Rice’s presentation. His lectures draw from years of living in Britain and St. Kitts in the British West Indies, consulting and hands-on experience in horticultural design. Mr. Rice, a past speaker at Garden Club of the Back Bay meetings, is a native of Manchester-by-the-Sea, and recently moved to Rome, New York where he continues to lecture on horticultural topics and consult on garden design projects while renovating his home and building an extensive botanical garden.

The public is invited to attend, $5 donation requested. You may rsvp with Susan Pearson at 508-668-4039, or visit www.norwoodeveninggardenclub.com for more information.
