    Step into a world of serenity and natural beauty at our Lavender Farm Fest! Nestled amidst the picturesque lavender fields with a breathtaking view of Mount Wachusett and surrounding vistas, this festival promises a day filled with relaxation and delightful experiences. The 5th Annual Lavender Farm Fest takes place June 21, 22, 23 and June 28, 29, 30 at The Farm at SummitWynds, 62 Summit Street in Holden.

    Capture the moment as you wander through the lavender fields, striking poses with handheld cameras and phones (tripods and flash not allowed). Indulge your senses with lavender treats and drinks, while enjoying live music that sets the perfect mood for the day.

    Visit the Vintage Camper photo booth for some fun snapshots, listen to live music and sip on a glass of beer or wine from Seven Saws Brewing, Red Apple Farm, and Hardwick Winery, including special Lavender Beer, Wine and Hard Cider crafted from our own lavender (21+ only). Discover the charm of our newly hatched chicks and explore the Boutique Artisanal Marketplace for unique finds.

    Immerse yourself in the tranquility of a Yoga Class in the Lavender Field, check our website for timings. Embark on a nature trail adventure, hike through enchanting landscapes, and take a self-guided farm tour to meet horses, sheep, and chickens.

    Learn about the rich history of The Farm at SummitWynds and cool off with lavender lemonade or lavender soft serve ice cream. Walk the labyrinth for a spiritual journey and bring your children (EXCEPT on June 21st which is Adults Only) for various activities like Hoot N Holler Hill, Farmer Chip, and Granny’s Stable with our herd of spring horses.

  • Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26 – 23rd Annual Farm & Garden Tour

    The Franklin Land Trust will hold its 23rd Annual Farm and Garden Tour on Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26, in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts.  For details on hours, and to reserve your tickets (which are available in limited numbers, so call now) contact Linda at 413-625-9151, ext. 108.  Tickets are $15 for Franklin Land Trust members, $20 for the general public.   • Tuesday, October 12, 1:00 – 6:15 pm, and Wednesday, October 13, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm – Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts Tri-Refresher

    Come to Ashfield, Massachusetts Tuesday, October 12 and Wednesday, October 13 for a two day intensive course in the foothills of the Berkshires.  This course of study will explore Beaver Lodge, a residence designed by Marie Stella, who spoke to The Garden Club of the Back Bay in March, 2010.  This handsome laboratory setting will offer information on the promotion of sustainability, innovative use of native plant materials, construction of rain gardens, green roofs, and vegetated walls.  Rainwater harvesting and organic vegetable gardening will also be featured.  A “petting zoo” of green materials will help familiarize you with the latest products available.  Enjoy locavore gourmet meals and learn about Slow Food.  Beaver Lodge is Platinum LEED certified, the highest level of achievement designated by the US Green Building Council in Washington, DC, and the only such home in western Massachusetts.  Cost per person for the two day Tri-Refresher Workshop (Landscape Design, Gardening Studies School, and Environmental Studies) is $200 for eight hours of instruction.  Room and Board: Per night including breakfast (12 persons can be accommodated dormitory style at Beaver Lodge), $75.  Tuesday dinner and Wednesday lunch – organic local produce and products: $75.  Note: One group can stay overnight Tuesday and the other on Wednesday.  Total immersion is an integral part of the Beaver Lodge experience.  A list of items to bring will be mailed to participants, as well as directions.  To register, or for a copy of the complete schedule, contact Marie Stella, 719 Barnes Road, Shelburne Falls, MA by emailing marie@mariestellabeaverlodge.com.  You may also check her website at www.mariestellabeaverlodge.com.
