  • Saturday, March 20, 10:00 am – 11:30 am – Spring Bulbs Planter Workshop, Online

    The Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens and The Trustees present an online Spring Bulbs Planter Workshop online on March 20 at 10 am. Don’t wait for April showers. Join the Trustees in a virtual spring bulb planter workshop.

    Each participant will be introduced to different spring plant varieties, learn how to care for and arrange a thoughtful garden-inspired bulb planter in a light and vibrant color palette using basic floral design fundamentals and unique ingredients. Perfect for gift-giving or bring spring into your home after the long winter.

    Space is limited. Pre-registration required and will close 5 days before workshop date.

    Call to arrange plant and supplies pick-up for the Friday before the workshop. Add-on $7 contactless delivery to Andover or North Andover address for Friday before the workshop between 10am and 5pm.

    These workshops will be on Zoom. Pre-registration required. Participants will receive Zoom link and login info the morning of the program.

    Have you ever wanted to raise bees for honey or grow your own herbs and vegetables? Learn these new practical skills and more needed for a self-sufficient lifestyle with The Trustees’ Homesteading Workshop Series this Fall to celebrate the current season and seasons to come. Each week in the month of September at The Stevens-Coolidge Place, 137 Andover Street in North Andover, we will explore a different aspect of Homesteading through hands-on and interactive workshops that will provide you with the knowledge and technical skills to bring these Homesteading practices back to your home.

    Looking for a relaxing afternoon but can’t get to the Stevens-Coolidge Place gardens in person? Tune into Facebook Live every Thursday at 3pm to enjoy a live stream of our gardens. Each week we’ll setup a camera in new location to spot chirping birds, nibbling bunnies and of course flowers!

    Spending more time cooking from home or enjoying your garden? Join beloved gardener, herb grower and cook, Betsy Williams and the Stevens-Coolidge Place to learn the secret to growing, using and preserving savory herbs to enhance your daily meals.

    During this new online offering on June 23 at 11 am, Betsy will explore making syrups, wines, and liqueurs in a 45-minute webinar presentation followed by a Q&A moderated by Trustees staff. The Zoom webinar is $4 for Trustees members, $8 for nonmembers. Register at http://thetrustees.org.

    During this new online offering on May 27 from 10 – 11, Betsy will explore the following topics in a brief 30-minute presentation followed by a Q&A moderated by Trustees staff.

    The Trustees will be using Zoom for this online program. A $5 donation is requested, but all interested parties are welcome regardless of donation ability.   • Wednesday, May 13 – Virtual Tulip Festival

    The Stevens-Coolidge Place 3rd Annual Tulip Festival is moving online! 

    Though we can’t bring our friends and members to the gardens, we can bring the gardens to you in the comfort of your own home.

    Enjoy a full virtual Tulip Festival on our social media channels and Trustees’ website. We’ll be sharing colorful close-up photos, sweeping videos of the gardens and aerial views featuring the patchwork of color created by these plentiful spring blooms. Enjoy a virtual garden tour, tulip growing tips and an arrangement demonstration by Trustees staff. All you have to do is follow us on Facebook and Instagram or visit www.thetrustees.org . There are some conflicting dates reported online, so begin checking now, although the virtual presentation is scheduled for the 13th.

  • Friday, March 20, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Rooms in Bloom Preview Party

    Whether you’ve enjoyed the gardens of the Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover a thousand times or if you’ve never visited them before, this March 20th Trustees members-only festivities will delight you as we’ve brought the outside in! Enjoy a glass of wine and appetizers as you meander this historic estate and view themed floral arrangements in every room. Showcasing the creative talents of local floral designers and garden clubs, this evening is to allow only Trustees members to enjoy a sneak peek at the Rooms in Bloom display inside the Stevens-Coolidge Place to be unveiled on Saturday, March 21st.

    Open Houses at the Stevens-Coolidge Place are a chance to step back into the 1920s and experience the country elegance of life on a multi-generation farm turned gentleman’s estate. Rooms in Bloom is a special open house that not only invites visitors to step back in time by year, but also by season. With the spring upon us, you may be eager for glimpses of warmth and greenery and the Rooms in Bloom open house will provide just that, with creatively designed floral arrangements based on the theme of each room displayed throughout the home.

  • Thursday, February 6, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm – Sage & Oak Chalk Lettering Workshop

    Join Sydney from Sage & Oak Creative for a night of chalkboard art and seasonal apple cider. The workshop will be held February 6 at 7 pm at The Trustees’ Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover.

    Gardening and creativity go hand in hand: a form of therapy and creative release – allowing us to disconnect from work and responsibilities and get our hands a little dirty.

    Come learn about the best tools and how you can turn anything in your home (mirrors, mugs, chalkboards, glass) into a way to express your creative side. No need to buy those pieces from a home goods store – make them yourself.

    Materials, seasonal apple cider, and chalked outline will be provided. Have a favorite flower or gardening element? Let’s draw it! Have an idea for your home you’d like to make? Bring your example and let’s make it happen.

    This lecture is part of a new Wednesday evening winter workshop series offered at The Stevens-Coolidge Place.

  • Saturdays and Sundays, through early October, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm – PYO Bouquet from the Cutting Garden

    Every Saturday and Sunday through early October from 10am-4pm, the Cutting Garden is open at The Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover. In addition to pick-your-own favorites like zinnias, cosmos and rudbeckia, visitors will find new varieties to add pop and flair to their bouquets. The garden is fun for all ages and there is always something new to learn. Please note there is a fee to cut flowers and picking is only available at the Cutting Garden during PYO hours.  Be sure to stop by the tent to pick-up your scissors, cup, and water before starting your 10-stem bouquet. Extend your visit and explore our other gardens including a French Potager Garden, Rose Garden, and Perennial Garden, borrow a blanket and a book to read under a tree or play a game of checkers in the lawn.

    This is a drop-in program. No registration required. Trustees members $5, nonmembers $10.

  • Sunday, June 9, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Paint the Gardens

    Come paint in the gardens of the Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover on June 9 from 1 – 3 with everyone’s favorite instructors Ana Smyth and Francisco Colom.

    A little creativity and some new-found technique are all you will need to create a beautiful work of art and have lots of fun doing it in this special setting. Smyth and Colom provide expert step-by-step instruction on painting en plein air to all participants, novice and seasoned alike. By the end of Sunday’s class, you will have created a beautiful painting to take home with you, inspired by The Stevens- Coolidge Place and its expansive gardens. Weather permitting the event will be held outside in rotating garden settings. During inclement weather class will be held in the greenhouse or the historic estate on the property. All art supplies, aprons and instruction are provided. You simply have to show up and be ready to paint! This class is suitable for all skills levels and recommended for ages 14 and up. $36 for Trustees members, $45 for nonmembers.
