Lew French is an award winning master stone worker, with 35 years of experience designing and building one of a kind functional and visual structures using organic materials. French is known for his landscape designs with sculptural elements, and recently for a line of smaller sculpture pieces designed for indoor placement. He is well known worldwide for his drystone look techniques, creating stone fireplaces, walls, patios and other architectural elements without the evidence of grout lines. His works have been featured on the best architecture and design magazines in the country, as well as national and regional TV shows. French’s style of work has been a great influence to other stone masons and artists, and is recognized as ground breaking in the evolution of stone work. On Sunday, September 18 beginning at 1 pm at Tower Hill Botanic Garden, Lew will discuss his books Stone By Design: The Artistry of Lew French, and Sticks and Stones, followed by a book signing.
